Claims
- 1. A method comprising the steps of:
displaying a sequence of pages present in a print job; displaying at least one alternate page to be inserted into the displayed sequence; positioning the alternate page display at any desired position in the displayed sequence; and preparing print instructions applicable to the print job which take into account the positioning of the alternate page in the displayed sequence.
- 2. A method according to claim 1 wherein said step of displaying at least one alternate page comprises displaying a plurality of alternate pages.
- 3. A method according to claim 2 wherein said step of displaying a plurality of alternate pages comprises distributing such alternate pages among the sequence of pages.
- 4. A method according to claim 1 wherein said step of displaying at least one alternate page comprises displaying a cover page.
- 5. A method according to claim 1 wherein said step of displaying at least one alternate page comprises displaying a preprinted page to be inserted into the sequence of pages.
- 6. Apparatus comprising:
an information handling system having a processor, memory and a display; and end user interface program instructions stored accessibly to said information handling system and effective when executing on said processor to access a print job which is stored accessibly to said information handling system and defines a sequence of pages to be printed and to:
display on said display the sequence of pages present in said print job; display on said display at least one alternate page to be inserted into the displayed sequence; enable an operator of the information handling system to position the alternate page at any desired location in the displayed sequence; and prepare print instructions applicable to the print job which take into account the positioning of the alternate page in the displayed sequence.
- 7. Apparatus according to claim 6 wherein said end user interface program instructions are effective when executing on said processor to display a plurality of alternate pages.
- 8. Apparatus according to claim 7 wherein said end user interface program instructions are effective when executing on said processor to display a plurality of alternate pages distributed among the sequence of pages.
- 9. Apparatus according to claim 6 wherein said end user interface program instructions are effective when executing on said processor to display a cover page.
- 10. Apparatus according to claim 6 wherein said end user interface program instructions are effective when executing on said processor to display a preprinted page to be inserted into the sequence of pages.
- 11. A program product comprising:
a computer readable storage medium; and end user interface program instructions stored on said medium and effective when executing on an information handling system to access a print job which is stored accessibly to said information handling system and defines a sequence of pages to be printed and to:
display the sequence of pages present in said print job; display at least one alternate page to be inserted into the displayed sequence; enable an operator of the information handling system to position the alternate page at any desired location in the displayed sequence; and prepare print instructions applicable to the print job which take into account the positioning of the alternate page in the displayed sequence.
- 12. A product according to claim 11 wherein said end user interface program instructions are effective when executing on said processor to display a plurality of alternate pages.
- 13. A product according to claim 12 wherein said end user interface program instructions are effective when executing on said processor to display a plurality of alternate pages distributed among the sequence of pages.
- 14. A product according to claim 11 wherein said end user interface program instructions are effective when executing on said processor to display a cover page.
- 15. A product according to claim 11 wherein said end user interface program instructions are effective when executing on said processor to display a preprinted page to be inserted into the sequence of pages.
