Claims
- 1. A method for applying therapeutic heat comprising the steps of:
- (a) generating radiant heat energy at a wavelength which penetrates into a human or animal body, said radiant heat being generated in at least one flexible electrically insulating and radiant energy permeable layer,
- (b) disposing a thermal insulation layer against the human or animal body and covering it with the layer forming the source of said radiant energy,
- (c) reflecting said radiant energy against the surface of and through the thermal insulation layer and into the human or animal body, and
- (d) sealing a radiant energy permeable envelope around the entire heater used in steps (a)-(c).
- 2. A method of applying radiant therapeutic heat as defined in claim 1 in which the radiant heat generated in step (a) is generated from a fiberglass mat impregnated with a resistive material.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein said fiberglass mat impregnation comprises:
- 45 parts graphite (83%-90%),
- 25 parts silicone,
- 9 parts casein,
- 20 parts probiofan L5,
- 102-0.05 parts of silikorentschaumer.
- 4. A method of applying therapeutic heat comprising the steps of:
- (a) generating radiant heat energy at a wavelength which penetrates into a human or animal body, said radiant heat being generated in at least one flexible layer,
- (b) interposing an electrically insulating and radiant energy permeable layer between a human or animal body and the flexible layer, and
- (c) reflecting the radiant energy from the side of said layer opposite said body toward the body.
- 5. A method of applying radiant therapeutic heat as defined in claim 4 in which the radiant heat generated in step (a) is generated from a fiberglass mat impregnated with a resistive material.
- 6. The method of claim 5 wherein said fiberglass mat impregnation comprises:
- 45 parts graphite (83%-90%),
- 25 parts silicone,
- 9 parts casein,
- 20 parts probiofan L5,
- 102-0.05 parts of silikorentschaumer.
