Claims
- 1. A method for baking a food product comprising:
- providing a pan having a food product therein, said pan having an upstanding side and a bottom, said bottom having a nonuniform thickness and including at least one through aperture therein and including a substantially flat, unbroken inner surface and an outer surface, said outer surface having at least one groove therein;
- forming a plurality of columns of heated air;
- directing said columns of air against said bottom outer surface for impingement against localized areas of said outer surface to thereby bake the food product; and
- moving said pan relative to said columns of air.
- 2. The method according to claim 1 wherein one side of said groove has at least a portion thereof inclined at less than 90.degree. with respect to the plane of said outer surface.
- 3. The method according to claim 1 wherein said pan bottom includes a plurality of grooves on the outer surface and a plurality of through apertures.
- 4. The method according to claim 1 wherein said pan outer surface includes a plurality of V-shaped grooves having a depth of 30% to 75% of the thickness of the bottom of said pan.
- 5. The method according to claim 1 wherein said pan bottom outer surface includes a plurality of V-shaped grooves and a plurality of through apertures, said apertures being spaced more densely in the center portion of said bottom than in the outside portion of said bottom.
- 6. The method according to claim 3 wherein said grooves are arranged in a grid pattern with said grooves generally orthogonally disposed with respect to each other, and wherein the apertures are located in at least some of the interstices of said grid pattern.
- 7. The method of claim 3 wherein said grooves are V-shaped.
- 8. The method according to claim 7 wherein said apertures are more densely spaced toward the center portion of said pan bottom surface.
- 9. The method according to claim 7 wherein said bottom has a thickness in the range of 0.056 inch to 0.102 inch and wherein said grooves have a depth in the range of 30% to 70% of said bottom thickness.
- 10. The method according to claim 6 wherein the parallel grooves of said pattern are spaced apart a distance of 0.25 inch to 0.75 inch.
- 11. The method according to claim 6 wherein the parallel grooves of said pattern are more densely spaced toward the center of said outer surface.
- 12. The method according to claim 3 wherein said plurality of grooves are arranged in a star-shaped pattern and wherein said grooves radiate outwardly from the center of said outer surface.
- 13. The method according to claim 3 wherein said grooves are arranged in concentric circles.
