Claims
- 1. A method for cleaning a dye-emitting orifice of a dye jet gun bar comprising the steps of
- (1) continuously directing a stream of dye from said orifice under pressure, and
- (2) directing a stream of liquid into said orifice under sufficient pressure to counteract the dye liquor jet action to dislodge and remove contaminants and foreign material from said orifice.
- 2. A method as defined in claim 1 wherein said gun bar includes a plurality of said orifices and including the step of sequentially cleaning additional orifices of said gun bar in the manner described.
- 3. A method as defined in claim 2 wherein said gun bar includes a manifold communicating with said orifice for supplying dye thereto, means for supplying dye to said manifold, and means for recirculating dye from said manifold upstream of said orifice to said dye supply means, and including the steps of
- (1) directing the dislodged contaminants and foreign material from said orifice into said manifold, and
- (2) removing the contaminants and foreign material from said manifold with the recirculating dye for subsequent removal from the system.
