Claims
- 1. A method for controlling an air distribution system comprising the steps of:
- continuously supplying either heated or cooled conditioned air in accordance with the overall demand in a plurality of zones;
- continuously supplying at least an amount of heated or cooled conditioned air sufficient for ventilation purposes through each of a plurality of terminals in a plurality of zones whereby each of the plurality of zones is being continuously heated or each of the plurality of zones is being continuously cooled;
- comparing the temperature in each zone with the set point for that zone to determine the difference which defines the terminal satisfaction in each zone;
- operating each of the terminals so as to achieve terminal satisfaction by controlling the amount of conditioned air supplied to each zone in excess of the amount sufficient for ventilation purposes responsive to the difference between the temperature in the zone and the set point and whether heated or cooled air is being supplied; and
- controlling the air handler responsive to terminal satisfaction while preventing a number of terminals within a predetermined range from achieving terminal satisfaction by supplying an insufficient amount of conditioned air to produce satisfaction of all of the zones.
