Claims
- 1. A process for controlling the functionality of a macromolecule having a number average molecular weight from about 200 to 20,000 and having functional groups capable of being modified by a heterogeneous catalyst, which comprises modifying the functionality of said macromolecule with a heterogeneous catalyst wherein said catalyst has an average pore size smaller than the radii of gyration of the largest macromolecule fractions in that the smaller molecules enter the pores of the catalyst and their functional groups are modified and the larger molecules are less able to enter the catalyst pores and are not completely modified therein and wherein said functional groups are aldehyde, ketone and alkoxy hydroperoxides.
