Claims
- 1. A method for forming a decorative cover about a flower pot, comprising:providing a sheet of material, initially provided flat, and having an upper surface, a lower surface, an outer peripheral edge and comprising a plurality of wire or plastic rod-shaped reinforcing elements; providing a flower pot having an upper end, a lower end, an outer peripheral surface and having a floral grouping disposed therein; forming the sheet of material about the flower pot to a position wherein the sheet of material extends about substantially the entire outer peripheral surface of the flower pot; and forming a crimped portion in a portion of the sheet of material having the wire or plastic rod-shaped reinforcing elements after the sheet of material has been placed about the flower pot, and wherein the sheet of material is not formed into a decorative cover having a shape adapted to fit the flower pot until after the sheet of material is placed about the flower pot.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein in the step of forming the crimped portion in the sheet of material, the crimped portion extends circumferentially about a portion of the flower pot.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of forming the crimped portion is defined further as forming a plurality of overlapping folds in the crimped portion of the sheet of material.
- 4. The method of claim 3 wherein in the step of forming the crimped portion, the crimped portion is located above the upper end of the flower pot.
- 5. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of providing the sheet of material is defined further as comprising:providing a roll of material; unrolling a portion of the material from the roll of material; and separating a portion of the material unrolled from the roll of material to form the sheet of material from the roll of material.
- 6. the method of claim 1 wherein in the step of providing the sheet of material, the sheet of material is provided from a pad containing a plurality of sheets of material.
- 7. A method for forming a decorative cover about a flower pot, comprising:providing a sheet of material initially provided flat, and having an upper surface, a lower surface and an outer peripheral edge, and having a heat shrink material disposed upon a portion thereof; providing a flower pot having an upper end, a lower end, an outer peripheral surface and having a floral grouping disposed therein, at least a portion of the floral grouping extending a distance from the upper end of the flower pot; forming the sheet of material about the flower pot to a position wherein the sheet of material extends about substantially the entire outer peripheral surface of the flower pot; and subjecting a portion of the sheet of material having the heat shrink material to heat thereby causing the heat shrink material to shrink thereby forming a crimped portion in the sheet of material, and wherein the sheet of material is not formed into a decorative cover having a shape adapted to fit the flower pot until after the sheet of material is placed about the flower pot.
- 8. The method of claim 7 wherein in the subjecting step, the crimped portion is formed to extend circumferentially about a portion of the flower pot.
- 9. The method of claim 7 wherein in the subjecting step, a plurality of overlapping folds is formed in the crimped portion.
- 10. The method of claim 7 wherein in the subjecting step, the crimped portion is located above the upper end of the flower pot.
- 11. The method of claim 7 wherein the step of providing the sheet of material is defined further as comprising:providing a roll of material; unrolling a portion of the material from the roll of material; and separating a portion of the material unrolled from the roll of material to form the sheet of material from the roll of material.
- 12. The method of claim 7 wherein in the step of providing the sheet of material, the sheet of material is provided from a pad containing a plurality of sheets of material.
