Claims
- 1. A process for producing a blood compatible, shear sensitive gel for use in a blood collection tube comprising the steps of:
- (a) forming a mixture by admixing polydimethyl siloxane/polyethylene oxide block copolymer, a gelling agent and water or alcohol in a blood collection tube;
- (b) heating said blood collection tube in a sand bath at about 175.degree.-200.degree. C. with occasional mixing to avoid wholesale boiling;
- (c) capping said tube; and
- (d) cooling said tube at an incline.
