Claims
- 1. A method for heat curing of an acrylic dental prosthesis while the prosthesis is in a plaster chamber without a dental flask comprising:
- a) providing a vessel for boiling or heating water, said vessel having an open top, a lid for sealing the top, an inlet for injection of comprised air into the vessel, an outlet for exhausting of compressed air, and valve means for closing and opening said inlet and said outlet,
- b) heating water held in said vessel to a temperature sufficient for heat curing of said acrylic dental prosthesis,
- c) placing said plaster chamber containing a heat curable acrylic dental prosthesis into a curing container without a dental flask, and filling said curing container with water to cover said plaster chamber, said curing container having an open top,
- d) then placing the open curing container in said heated water such that the level of said heated water is below the open top of said curing container, and
- e) pressurizing said vessel with compressed air, wherein said heated water held in said pressure vessel heats the water in said curing container to heat cure said acrylic dental prosthesis under pressure.
- 2. A method as claimed in claim 1 wherein said water in said vessel is heated to a temperature of 90.degree. C. to 100.degree. C. by said heating means.
- 3. A method as claimed in claim 2 wherein said curing container is filled with water at ambient temperature and said vessel is pressurized to a pressure of 3.5 bars.
- 4. A method as claimed in claim 1 wherein said acrylic dental prosthesis is a complete or partial denture, an occlusal plate for the relaxation of muscles, or orthodontic appliance.
- 5. A method as claimed in claim 1 wherein said curing container is supported on a table within said vessel so that the top edge of the curing container is above the level of said heated water held by said vessel.
- 6. A method as claimed in claim 5 wherein said table is perforated for circulation of said heated water around said curing container.
- 7. A method as claimed in claim 1 wherein the heat curable acrylic dental prosthesis is made by adding fluid heat curing acrylic in a plaster chamber which is vibrated to adapt the fluid heat curing acrylic to the positive model of the plaster chamber, and the plaster chamber is placed in the curing container in contact with water in the curing container for heat curing of the fluid heat curable acrylic.
- 8. A method for heat curing of an acrylic dental prosthesis comprising:
- a) forming a heat curable acrylic dental prosthesis in a plaster chamber,
- b) heating water held in a pressure vessel to a temperature sufficient for heat curing of said acrylic dental prosthesis,
- c) submerging said plaster chamber containing said heat curable acrylic dental prosthesis in water within a curing container without a dental flask, and
- d) heating the water in said curing container with the heated water held in said pressure vessel to heat cure said acrylic dental prosthesis within said pressure vessel without a dental flask.
- 9. A method as claimed in claim 8 wherein the water held in said pressure vessel is heated to a temperature of 90.degree. C. to 100.degree. C. and the plaster chamber is submerged in ambient temperature water within said curing container.
- 10. A method as claimed in claim 8 wherein said heat curable dental prosthesis is heat cured for about 20 to 25 minutes.
- 11. A method as claimed in claim 10 wherein the heat cured dental prosthesis is cooled within the plaster chamber by running water, and then removed from the plaster chamber.
- 12. A method as claimed in claim 10 wherein said heat curing is conducted at a pressure of 3.5 bars.
- 13. A method as claimed in claim 8 wherein the plaster chamber is moistened under pressure and then washed to eliminate wax, and for heat curing, the plaster chamber with the heat curing acrylic already aggregated inside it, is varnished and dried and all inlets are covered with plaster of Paris.
- 14. A method as claimed in claim 8 wherein said acrylic dental prosthesis is a complete or partial denture, an occlusal plate for the relaxation of muscles, or orthodontic appliance.
- 15. A method as claimed in claim 8 wherein the heat curable acrylic dental prosthesis is made by adding fluid heat curing acrylic in a plaster chamber which is vibrated to adapt the fluid heat curing acrylic to the positive model of the plaster chamber, and the plaster chamber is placed in the curing container in contact with water in the curing container for heat curing of the fluid heat curable acrylic.
