Obviously, the described embodiments are some but not all of the embodiments of the present application. All other embodiments obtained by persons of ordinary skill in the art based on the embodiments of the present application shall fall within the scope of protection of the present application.
In the specification and claims of the present application, the terms such as “first” and “second” are used for distinguishing similar objects, and are not necessarily used to describe a particular order or sequence. It is to be understood that the terms so used are interchangeable under appropriate circumstances such that the embodiments of the application can be implemented in sequences other than those illustrated or described herein, and “first” and “second” generally distinguish objects of a same type, and the number of objects is not limited. For example, there may be one or more first objects. In addition, in the specification and claims, “and/or” means at least one of connected objects, and the character “/” generally means that associated objects are in an “or” relationship.
It should be noted that the technology described in the embodiments of the present application is not limited to a long term evolution (Long Term Evolution, LTE)/LTE-advanced (LTE-Advanced, LTE-A) system, and may also be used in other wireless communications systems such as code division multiple access (Code Division Multiple Access, CDMA), time division multiple access (Time Division Multiple Access, TDMA), frequency division multiple access (Frequency Division Multiple Access, FDMA), orthogonal frequency division multiple access (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access, OFDMA), single-carrier frequency division multiple access (Single-carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access, SC-FDMA), and another system. The terms “system” and “network” in the embodiments of the present application are often used interchangeably, and the described technology can be used not only for the systems and radio technologies mentioned above, but also for other systems and radio technologies. However, a new radio (New Radio, NR) system is described in the following description for illustrative purposes, and the NR terminology is used in most of the following description, although these technologies can also be applied to applications other than the NR system application, such as the 6th generation (6th Generation, 6G) communication system.
Backscatter communications BSC means that a backscatter communications device performs signal modulation based on a radio frequency signal from another device or the environment, to transmit information. A backscatter communications terminal (BSC terminal, also known as BSC Tag or BSC UE) can be an electronic tag in traditional RFID, or a passive Internet of Things IoT (Passive-IoT) device, which are collectively referred to as BSC terminals in the embodiments of the present application for convenience.
As a passive or low energy consumption technology, the BSC technology has the technical characteristic that a signal can be transmitted by changing a characteristic such as phase or amplitude information of a received environmental radio frequency signal, to achieve information transmission with extremely low power consumption or zero power consumption.
From the perspective of energy supply modes, backscatter communications terminals (BSC Tag) can be divided into three modes: completely passive (Passive), semi-passive (Semi-passive), and active (active).
For passive backscatter communications, the BSC Tag first performs energy harvesting (Energy harvesting) from external electromagnetic waves, supplies energy to internal channel coding and modulation circuit modules or the like to work, and at the same time, communicates by backscattering radio frequency signals, thereby achieving communication with zero power consumption.
The semi-passive BSC Tag supplies energy to an internal circuit module through its own battery and communicates by backscattering radio frequency signals. Since its internal battery is only used for simple internal channel coding and modulation circuit modules or the like, the power consumption is very low. Therefore, the battery life of the BSC Tag can reach more than ten years. All radio frequency signals from the outside can be used for backscatter communications without storing part of energy for power supply.
For the active BSC Tag, a built-in battery is not only used for simple internal channel coding and modulation circuits or the like to work, but can also be used for circuits such as power amplifiers (Power Amplifier, PA) and low noise power amplifiers (Low Noise Amplifier, LNA) to work, thus enabling more complex signal modulation and demodulation of backscatter communications.
Architectures of backscatter communications can be divided into monostatic backscatter communication systems (Monostatic backscatter communication systems, MBCSs), bistatic backscatter communication systems (Bistatic backscatter communication systems, BBCSs), and ambient backscatter communication systems (Ambient backscatter communication systems, ABCSs).
Different from the MBCS system, an RF radio frequency source and a BSC receiving end in the BBCS system are separated.
For example, a BSC usage scenario is a scenario in which a mobile terminal serving as a BSC control device (Reader) is connected to smart glasses serving as a BSC terminal (Tag). The Tag collects the energy of the signal transmitted by the mobile terminal or the energy provided by a special device, and transmits the Tag information b(t) by reflecting the signal x(t) transmitted by the mobile terminal.
If backscatter communications terminal devices are in large-scale cellular deployment, cellular networking architectures of the backscatter communications can be divided into eight architectures as shown in
In an architecture 1 shown in
In an architecture 2 shown in
In the architecture shown in
The first device may be a conventional terminal (or an ordinary terminal) or a relay. Conventional terminals include current mobile phones, vehicle-mounted equipment, customer premise equipment (Customer Premise Equipment, CPE), and other terminals.
In terminal-assisted backscatter communications, a terminal can be used as a radio frequency source, or configured to forward downlink data or forward uplink data, or the like. In this case, how to initiate establishment of a BSC link is a problem that needs to be urgently solved by those skilled in the art.
Embodiments of the present application provide a method for initiating establishment of a BSC link, a terminal, and a network side device, which can solve the problem of how to initiate establishment of a BSC link.
In the embodiments of the present application, the network side device can initiate establishment of the BSC link, that is, the network side device transmits the first information, and the first device receives the first information from the network side device, thereby transmitting BSC data.
The method for initiating establishment of a BSC link provided by the embodiments of the present application will be described in detail below based on some embodiments and application scenarios with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Step 101: The first device receives first information from the network side device, where the first information is used to initiate establishment of a BSC link.
In the embodiments of the present application, the network side device initiates establishment of a BSC link, that is, the first device receives the first information from the network side device, where the first information is used to initiate establishment of a BSC link. Therefore, the above solution implements how to initiate establishment of a BSC link, and the implementation process is simple and the device implementation complexity is low.
Specifically, the first device may include, for example, a terminal or a relay device. The method of this embodiment may adopt the system architecture shown in
In the method of the embodiments, the network side device initiates establishment of a BSC link, that is, the first device receives the first information from the network side device, where the first information is used to initiate establishment of a BSC link. Therefore, the above solution implements how to initiate establishment of a BSC link, and the implementation process is simple and the device implementation complexity is low.
In an embodiment, step 101 can be implemented in the following manners:
The first device receives the first information transmitted by the network side device.
Specifically, when initiating establishment of a BSC link, the network side device may transmit first information to the first device. The first information may be indication information transmitted by the network side device to the first device based on a Uu air interface. Alternatively, the network side device transmits a BSC command to the BSC terminal and/or the first device. Optionally, the network side device transmits the first information to the BSC terminal. The first device interprets the first information to establish a BSC link and/or transmit BSC data. The first device, the BSC terminal, and the network side device communicate in BSC mode.
Optionally, the first information includes at least one of the following:
Optionally, the first information is indicated in at least one of the following manners:
Specifically, the first information may be transmitted to the first device through the Uu air interface. In this scenario, the short message (Short Message) included in the paging message (Paging Message) may include the first information. The first information may be indicated by a paging cause (Paging Cause) included in the paging message, for example, the paging cause is BSC data forwarding (BSC data forwarding) or BSC mobile termination (BSC MT). The paging indication information may include the first information. Downlink control information (Download Control Information, DCI) may include the first information.
A sequence signal (Sequence) may correspond to the first information. For example, a sequence signal may correspond to a type of operation, such as instructing a specific terminal to start data transmission on the BSC link.
Non-access stratum (Non-Access Stratum, NAS) or radio resource control (Radio Resource Control, RRC) or media access control (Media Access Control, MAC) or physical layer dedicated signaling includes the first information. The first device receives the first information in connected mode.
Optionally, the first device may respond to the first information, and the method further includes:
Optionally, the initiating, by the first device, a paging response to the network side device includes:
Specifically, the establishment cause field included in the RRC establishment request message is used to initiate the BSC.
The acknowledgment message of the first information is used to confirm reception of the first information, or confirm execution of an operation based on the indication of the first information.
Optionally, in a scenario in which the first information is a BSC command transmitted by the network side device, the first information is used to implement at least one of the following:
Specifically, the first information may also be transmitted based on the BSC communication protocol, and the network side device transmits the first information to the BSC terminal and/or the first device. In a typical scenario, the network side device transmits the first information to the BSC terminal. The first device interprets the first information to transmit BSC data.
Optionally, the first information is further used to implement a TAG operation, including at least one of the following: select, inventory (Inventory), challenge, access, query, read, and write.
Specifically, the select (Select) command may refer to selecting a tag group. The select command is used to select one or more tags based on one or more values in a tag memory, and the challenge (Challenge) command can be used to challenge one or more tags. The reader can then count and access the selected tag. The reader is the network side device or the first device.
Access refers to communicating with an identified tag.
A TAG operation is, for example, reading, writing, locking or killing a Tag, or security related operations.
In the above implementation, the network side device initiates the establishment of the BSC connection. Specifically, the network side device transmits the first information to the BSC terminal and/or the first device, and the BSC link is established based on the indication of the first information, thereby achieving transmission of BSC data. It is convenient for starting or stopping the transmission of BSC data. This can be applied to a variety of terminal-assisted BSC networking architectures and can meet actual communication needs.
Specifically, when the network side device initiates establishment of the BSC link, the network side device transmits the first information to the BSC terminal, and the BSC terminal transmits the first tag indication information to the first device through backscattering after receiving the first information from the network side device.
Optionally, the first tag indication information includes at least one of the following:
In the above implementation, the network side device initiates the establishment of the BSC connection. Specifically, the network side device transmits the first information to the BSC terminal, and the BSC terminal transmits the first tag indication information to the first device through backscattering after receiving the first information from the network side device. It is convenient for starting or stopping the transmission of BSC data. This can be applied to a variety of terminal-assisted BSC networking architectures and can meet actual communication needs.
