Claims
- 1. A method for forming a can-like container comprising the steps of: providing a blank sheet, said blank sheet comprising a metal foil layer having a thickness of no more than 40 .mu.m, and a hot-melt resin layer formed on at least one side of said metal foil layer; cutting said sheet to provide a blank having dimensions established in accordance with desired dimensions of said container; placing said blank over one side of a female mold, said female mold having a hollow central portion having dimensions established in accordance with said desired dimensions of said container, said female mold having grooves in its side wall portions; pressing a male mold against said blank and into said hollow portion of said female mold to thereby provide a container having wrinkles in side wall portions corresponding to side wall portions of said female mold; and attaching a cover to said container body, said cover comprising a metal foil layer having a hot-melt resin layer on at least one side thereof.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein said female mold has four substantially straight sides and four corner portions for gathering said wrinkles at said four corner portions.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein said female mold has a substantially cylindrical hollow space for providing said side wall portions of said container with vertical wrinkles.
- 4. The method of claim 2, wherein said corner portions of said container body each contain two tucks folded inwardly towards one another on an outside of said container body.
- 5. The method of claim 2, wherein said corner portions of said container body are formed with vertical wrinkles.
- 6. The method of claim 2, wherein gaps between corner portions of said male mold and said corner portions of said female molds are wider than gaps between adjacent straight edge portions of said male mold and said female mold.
- 7. The process of claim 2 or 3, wherein said step of attaching said cover comprises hot-melting said resin layer of said cover with said resin layer of said container body.
- 8. The method of claim 2 or 3, further comprising the steps of providing a tray around said container body.
- 9. The process of claim 8, wherein said step of providing said tray comprises injection molding a resin material around a portion of said container body opposite said cover.
- 10. The method of claim 9, wherein said providing said tray further comprises:
- injection molding a resin material directly to an outer surface of said container body to contact with said tray, for smoothing the inner surface of said container body.
- 11. A method for forming a can-like container comprising the steps of: providing a blank sheet, said blank sheet comprising a metal foil layer having a thickness of no more than 40 .mu.m, and a hot-melt resin layer formed on at least one side of said metal foil layer; cutting said sheet to provide a blank having dimensions established in accordance with desired dimensions of said containers; placing said blank over one side of a female mold, said female mold having a hollow central portion having dimensions established in accordance with said desired dimensions of said container, said female mold having grooves in its side wall portions; pressing a male mold against said blank and into said hollow portion of said female mold to thereby provide a container having wrinkles in side wall portions corresponding to side wall portions of said female mold, said female mold having four substantially straight sides and four corner portions for gathering said wrinkles at said four corner portions; providing a tray around said container body, said step of providing said tray comprising injection molding a resin material around a portion of said container body; and attaching a cover to said container body opposite the portion thereof surrounded by said tray, said cover comprising a metal foil layer having a hot-melt resin layer on at least one side thereof.
- 12. The method of claim 11, wherein said providing said tray further comprises:
- injection molding a resin material directly to an outer surface of said container body to contact with said tray, for smoothing the inner surface of said container body.
- 13. A method for forming a can-like container comprising the steps of: providing a blank sheet, said blank sheet comprising a metal foil layer having a thickness of no more than 40 .mu.m, and a hot-melt resin layer formed on at least one side of said metal foil layer; cutting said sheet to provide a blank having dimensions established in accordance with desired dimensions of said container; placing said blank over one side of a female mold, said female mold having a hollow central portion having dimensions established in accordance with said desired dimensions of said container, said female mold having grooves in its side wall portions; pressing a male mold against said blank and into said hollow portion of said female mold to thereby provide a container having wrinkles in side wall portions corresponding to side wall portions of said female mold, said female mold having a substantially cylindrical hollow space for providing said side wall portions of said container with vertical wrinkles; providing a tray around said container body; said step of providing said tray comprising injection molding a resin material around a portion of said container body; and attaching a cover to said container body opposite the portion thereof surrounded by said tray, said cover comprising a metal foil layer having a hot-melt resin layer on at least one side thereof.
- 14. The method of claim 13, wherein said providing said tray further comprises:
- injection molding a resin material directly to an outer surface of said container body to contact with said tray, for smoothing the inner surface of said container body.
