Claims
- 1. A method for manufacturing shaped ceramic products, which comprises the steps of:
- applying a hydrostatic pressure of 2.0 ton/cm.sup.2 or higher to a shaped silicon nitride prior to calcination,
- calcining said hydrostatic-pressure-applied shaped silicon nitride at a temperature of about 1100.degree. to 1300.degree. C. to limit the shrinkage of the shaped silicon nitride after calcining to less than one per cent and form a calcined shaped ceramic having an average pore size of 0.04-0.3 .mu.m and a total pore volume of 0.1-0.3 cc/g and a four-point bending strength of 2-20 kg/mm.sup.2,
- wet grinding the calcined shaped ceramic to a desired shape, and
- sintering the calcined shaped ceramic to manufacture a ceramic product.
- 2. A method for manufacturing shaped ceramic products, which comprises the steps of:
- applying a hydrostatic pressure of 2.0 ton/cm.sup.2 or higher to a shaped silicon carbide prior to calcination,
- calcining said hydrostatic-pressure-applied shaped silicon carbide at a temperature of about 1500.degree. to 1700.degree. C. to limit the shrinkage of the shaped silicon carbide after calcining to less than one per cent and form a calcined shaped ceramic having an average pore size of 0.4-0.3 .mu.m and a total pore volume of 0.1-0.3 cc/g and a four-point bending strength of 2-20 kg/mm.sup.2,
- wet grinding the calcined shaped ceramic to a desired shape, and
- sintering the calcined shaped ceramic to manufacture a ceramic product.
- 3. A method for manufacturing shaped ceramic products, which comprises the steps of:
- applying a hydrostatic pressure of 2.0 ton/cm.sup.2 or higher to a shaped partially stabilized zirconia prior to calcination,
