Claims
- 1. A holster comprising:
- at least one layer of a thin, flexible self-supporting lining material; and
- a rigid outer shell made of a hardened synthetic resinous molding material bonded to the lining material and forming a unitary outer wall structure surrounding the lined cavity of the holster, the lining material having an outer surface which is porous enough to absorb a portion of the molding material yet dense molding material by impregnating the lining material to form a bond thereto by pressure contact with the lining material during molding.
- 2. A duty gear container comprising:
- an inner lining material; and
- a plural component elastomeric injection molded outer shell bonded to the inner lining material,
- wherein the inner lining material includes an outer surface which is porous enough to absorb some of the outer shell yet dense enough to prevent complete saturation of the inner lining material by the outer shell by impregnating the lining material to form a bond thereto by pressure contact with the lining material during molding.
- 3. The duty gear container of claim 2 wherein the container is a holster.
- 4. The duty gear container of claim 3 wherein the holster further comprises a belt loop attached to an outside surface of the outer shell.
- 5. The duty gear container of claim 2 wherein the plural component elastomeric injection molded outer shell comprises a combination of one or more of urethane, epoxy, polyester or silicone resins.
- 6. The duty gear container of claim 2 wherein the plural component elastomeric injection molded outer shell includes polyether polypol and a polymeric MDI.
- 7. The duty gear container of claim 2 wherein the outer shell includes polyester polyol.
- 8. The duty gear container of claim 2 wherein the outer shell includes isocynate.
- 9. The duty gear container comprising:
- an inner lining material having an outer surface; and
- a single component thermoplastic injection molded outer shell bonded to the outer surface of the lining material,
- wherein the outer surface of the lining material is porous enough to absorb some of the outer shell yet dense enough to prevent complete saturation of the inner lining material by the outer shell by impregnating the lining material to form a bond thereto by pressure contact with the lining material during molding.
- 10. The duty gear container of claim 9 wherein the container is a holster.
- 11. The duty gear container of claim 10 wherein the holster includes a belt loop attached to an outside surface of the outer shell.
- 12. The duty gear container of claim 9 wherein the single component thermoplastic injection molded outer shell is one of Kydex, nylon, ABS, or polyethylene.
