Claims
- 1. A method of monitoring the operational status of circuit components in a polyphase electrical system operating on line-to-line voltages comprising the steps:
- a) generating a plurality of voltage signals respectively representing neutral-to-line voltages of said system;
- b) vectorially adding to each of said voltage signals an identical signal whereby there results a corresponding plurality of modified signals representing neutral-to-line voltages but no modification in line-to-line voltages and voltage representations thereof; and,
- c) examining said modified signal to determine the operational status the circuit components.
- 2. A method of monitoring circuit components in a polyphase electrical system operating on line-to-line voltages comprising the steps:
- a) generating a plurality of voltage signals respectively representing neutral-to-line voltages of said system;
- b) vectorially adding to each of said voltage signals an identical signal whereby there results a corresponding plurality of modified signals representing neutral-to-line voltages but no modification in line-to-line voltages and voltage representations thereof and,
- c) comparing, for each phase of said polyphase system a representation of the respective modified signal as acted upon by the circuit components to be monitored with a representation of an associated voltage signal to provide an output signal representation of the operational condition of the circuit components to be tested.
