Claims
- 1. A method for the simultaneous conveyance of information between multiple subscribers and base station equipment of a wireless communication system, the method comprising the steps of:
providing multiple schedulers where each scheduler is capable of scheduling a subscriber, independently of any other scheduler, based on channel conditions transferred from the subscriber which conditions are processed and scheduled by the base station equipment and schedulers respectively.
- 2. The method of claim 1 where the wireless communication system is an HDR system and the schedulers are associated with antennas and base station equipment that process the channel conditions and apply the channel conditions to the schedulers and where an even distribution of power is used by the communication system.
- 3. The method of claim 1 where each set of channel conditions is transmitted by a subscriber equipment that generates such conditions based on measurements of pilot signals while other pilot signals are being broadcast by the base station equipment.
- 4. The method of claim 1 where a scheduled subscriber is able to receive information from the base station equipment over an entire downlink of the communication system.
- 5. The method of claim 1 where each scheduler is associated with an antenna and base station equipment that are part of a communication sub-system whereby each such communication sub-system is capable of independently scheduling subscribers requesting access to the communication system or subscribers that are being provided access to the communication system.
- 6. The method of claim 1 where the channel conditions have information indicating which base station equipment and associated scheduler is to process the channel conditions and schedule the subscriber.
- 7. The method of claim 1 where the step of providing multiple schedulers comprises the steps of:
receiving information with antennas associated with the schedulers where the received information contain channel conditions and information identifying which scheduler is to process the channel conditions; and transferring the received information to the identified scheduler.
- 8. The method of claim 1 where a scheduler schedules a subscriber having a DRC that is higher than any other DRC of other subscribers whose channel conditions were transferred to the scheduler.
- 9. The method of claim 1 where a scheduler schedules a subscriber having a DRC/average rate ratio that is higher that any other DRC/average rate ratio of other subscribers whose channel conditions were transferred to the scheduler.
- 10. The method of claim 1 where the schedulers use an algorithm to determine which subscriber to schedule.
- 11. The method of claim 10 where the schedulers use the same algorithm.
- 12. The method of claim 10 where the schedulers use different algorithms.
