Claims
- 1. A process of producing 14 hydroxycodeinone from codeinone comprising reacting organosilyl halide in the presence of diazobicyclo-base and oxidizing the resulting product with peracetic acid.
- 2. The process of claim 1 wherein the diazobicyclo-base is selected from the group consisting of:DBU (1,8-Diazabicyclo [5.4.0] undec-7-ene) and DBN (1,5-Diazabicyclo [4.3.0] non-5-ene).
- 3. A method for oxidizing a dienol silyl ether selected from the group having the formula: wherein R1 is alkyl or acyl, R2 is lower alkyl, allyl or lower alkyl substituted by cycloalkyl, and R3 is an alkyl or phenyl group and the three R3 groups are the same or different which comprises the steps of:a) reacting the dienol silyl ether compound with peracetic acid and b) thereafter isolating the product as a free base.
