Claims
- 1. A process for tanning raw hides, wherein the delimed hides are treated with a titanium tanning agent which is a binary titanyl and ammonium sulfate in the monohydrate form, (NH.sub.4).sub.2 TiO(SO.sub.4).sub.2.H.sub.2 O, taken in an amount of 4 to 6% of the weight of the hides based on TiO.sub.2, the resulting semi-finished product is neutralized with sodium sulfate and hexamethylene tetramine, and further tanned with synthetic tanning agents, followed by dip-filling and stuffing, wherein, prior to the titanium tanning procedure, the hides are treated with substances promoting the tanning process selected from the group comprising the sodium salt of disulfodinaphthylmethane, phthalic anhydride, aluminum alum, a mixture of aluminum alum and hexamethylene, ammonium titanylsulfate, and phenol-aldehyde oligomers dispersed in lignosulfonic acids.
- 2. A process according to claim 1, wherein as the tanning-promotor use is made of sodium salt of disulphodinaphthylmethane in an amount of from 1.5 to 2.5% by weight of the hides.
- 3. A process according to claim 1, wherein as the tanning promotor use is made of phthalic anhydride in an amount of from 1.2 to 2.2% by weight of the hides.
- 4. A process according to claim 1, wherein as the tanning promotor use is made of aluminium alum in an amount of from 1 to 3% by weight of the hides.
- 5. A process according to claim 1, wherein as the tanning promotor use is made of a mixture of aluminium alum with hexamethylene tetramine in an amount of from 1.8 to 5% by weight of the hides at a ratio between the components ranging from 0.5:1 to 3.4:1.
- 6. A process according to claim 1, wherein as the tanning promotor use is made of ammonium titanylsulphate in an amount of from 5 to 15% by weight of the hides.
- 7. A process according to claim 1, wherein as the tanning promotor use is made of phenol-aldehyde oligomers dispersed in lignosulphonic acids in an amount of from 2.5 to 5.0% by weight of the hides.
- 8. A process according to claim 7, wherein prior to the treatment of hides with phenol-aldehyde oligomers dispersed in lignosulphonic acids said hides are preliminarily chromed.
- 9. A process for tanning delimed hides, or delimed and pickled hides, or delimed, pickled and chromed hides, wherein said tanning is effected using a titanium tanning agent in the presence of a complex-forming agent selected from the group consisting of lactic acid, aluminium alum and condensation products of synthetic fatty acids with triethanolamine, said complex-forming agents being added in an amount ranging from 0.5 to 2.0% by weight of the hides.
- 10. A process according to claim 9, wherein the semi-finished leather product resulting from tanning is treated with chloroprene rubber latex in an amount of from 1 to 6% by weight of the hides as calculated for dry solids.
