Claims
- 1. A method for controlling NO.sub.x comprising the steps of:
- establishing a control curve for a combustion source indicating NO.sub.x levels for the combustion source based on atomizing steam injection flow rates, firing rates and fuel flow rates provided to at least one burner of the combustion source;
- measuring atomizing steam injection flow rate to each burner;
- measuring combustion source firing rate;
- measuring fuel flow rate provided to each burner;
- measuring NO.sub.x level at the combustion source flue gas outlet;
- determining a NO.sub.x level for the combustion source based on the fuel flow rate, atomizing steam injection flow rate, the measured NO.sub.x level and combustion source firing rate; and
- adding atomized steam to each burner for lowering the NO.sub.x level according to the control curve.
- 2. The method according to claim 1, including the step of recording the measured atomizing steam injection flow produced by the combustion source.
- 3. The method according to claim 2, including the step of recording the measured fuel flow provided to each burner.
- 4. The method according to claim 3, including the step of recording NO.sub.x levels measured at the combustion source gas outlet and providing them to a programmable loop commander master controller.
- 5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the step of measuring combustion source firing rate includes measuring combustion source steam pressure, and wherein the determining step includes basing NO.sub.x level on combustion source steam pressure.
