Claims
- 1. A method for rolling sections, especially sheet piles, in a rolling mill including a universal tandem compact stand group with at least a first universal roll stand and a second universal roll stand and a two-high edging stand, additional universal roll stands and a first two-high roll stand and a second two-high roll stand and a third two-high roll stand and a first two-high edging stand and a second two-high edging stand and a third two-high edging stand, the stands being arranged in rolling positions on an outer main rolling line and on at least an additional first rolling line and a second rolling line and a third rolling line, the rolling lines extending in a rolling direction, the stands having axes extending transversely of the rolling direction, means for displacing the sections in the direction of the rolling lines and means for displacing the sections transversely of the rolling line, rolling line displacement means for displacing the stands in the direction of the rolling lines and transverse displacement means for displacing the stands transversely from one of the rolling lines to another of the rolling lines, driving means arranged stationary next to the rolling positions on the outer main rolling line, and coupling means for coupling the driving means with the stands and with transmission means arranged in the rolling positions which are located adjacent the driving means and adjacent each other in axial direction of the stand, the two-high roll stands including fixedly grooved stands, the method comprising the steps of:
- carrying out initial shaping passes reversingly through a universal roll stand and a two-high edging stand placed in the main rolling line;
- carrying out subsequent shaping passes through another universal roll stand and a two-high edging stand placed in the third rolling line; and
- continuously carrying out in succession finishing passes through fixedly grooved two-high roll stands placed in the second rolling line.
- 2. A method for rolling rails in a rolling mill including a universal tandem compact stand group with at least a first universal roll stand and a second universal roll stand and a two-high edging stand, additional universal roll stands and a first two-high roll stand and a second two-high roll stand and a third two-high roll stand and a first two-high edging stand and a second two-high edging stand and a third two-high edging stand, the stands being arranged in rolling positions on an outer main rolling line and on at least an additional first rolling line and a second rolling line and a third rolling line, the rolling lines extending in a rolling direction, the stands having axes extending transversely of the rolling direction, means for displacing the sections in the direction of the rolling lines and means for displacing the sections transversely of the rolling line, rolling line displacement means for displacing the stands in the direction of the rolling lines and transverse displacement means for displacing the stands transversely from one of the rolling lines to another of the rolling lines, driving means arranged stationary next to the rolling positions on the outer main rolling line, and coupling means for coupling the driving means with the stands and with transmission means arranged in the rolling positions which are located adjacent the driving means and adjacent each other in axial direction of the stand, wherein the universal tandem compact stand group includes a two-high roughing stand, the method comprising the steps of:
- carrying out a roughing pass in the two-high roughing stand;
- subsequently carrying out a universal pass on the first universal roll stand; and
- carrying out in a continuous sequence, the universal pass as a finishing pass on the second universal roll stand.
- 3. Method for rolling rails in a rolling mill including a universal tandem compact stand group with at least a first universal roll stand and a second universal roll stand and a two-high edging stand, additional universal roll stands and a first two-high roll stand and a second two-high roll stand and a third two-high roll stand and a first two-high edging stand and a second two-high edging stand and a third two-high edging stand, the stands being arranged in rolling positions on an outer main rolling line and on at least an additional first rolling line and a second rolling line and a third rolling line, the rolling line extending in a rolling direction, the stands having axes extending transversely of the rolling direction, means for displacing the sections in the direction of the rolling lines and means for displacing the sections transversely of the rolling line, rolling line displacement means for displacing the stands in the direction of the rolling lines and transverse displacement means for displacing the stands transversely from one of the rolling lines to another of the rolling lines, driving means arranged stationary next to the rolling positions on the outer main rolling line, and coupling means for coupling the driving means with the stands and with transmission means arranged in the rolling positions which are located adjacent the driving means and adjacent each other in axial direction of the stand, wherein the first universal roll stand and the two-high edging stand of the universal tandem compact stand group are placed in the main rolling line and the second universal roll stand and another two-high edging stand are placed in the first rolling line, the method comprising the steps of:
- carrying out a guide pass in the two-high edging stand in the main rolling line;
- carrying out two reversing universal passes on the first universal roll stand in the main rolling line;
- carrying out a dummy pass through the open two-high edging stand of the main rolling line;
- carrying out a reversing edging pass on the two-high edging stand in the main rolling line;
- carrying out a third universal pass on one of the universal roll stands;
- subsequently carrying out another edging pass on the two-high edging stand in the first rolling line; and
- carrying out a fourth universal pass as a finishing pass on the second universal roll stand in the first rolling line.
- 4. A method for rolling rails in a rolling mill including a universal tandem compact stand group with at least a first universal roll stand and a second universal roll stand and a two-high edging stand, additional universal roll stands and a first two-high roll stand and a second two-high roll stand and a third two-high roll stand and a first two-high edging stand and a second two-high edging stand and a third two-high edging stand, the stands being arranged in rolling positions on an outer main rolling line and on at least an additional first rolling line and a second rolling line and a third rolling line, the rolling lines extending in a rolling direction, the stands having axes extending transversely of the rolling direction, means for displacing the sections in the direction of the rolling lines and means for displacing the sections transversely of the rolling line, rolling line displacement means for displacing the stands in the direction of the rolling lines and transverse displacement means for displacing the stands transversely from one of the rolling lines to another of the rolling lines, driving means arranged stationary next to the rolling positions on the outer main rolling line, and coupling means for coupling the driving means with the stands and with transmission means arranged in the rolling positions which are located adjacent the driving means and adjacent each other in axial direction of the stand, wherein the universal tandem compact stand group is placed in the main rolling line and another two-high edging stand is placed in the first rolling line, and wherein the first universal roll stand and the two-high edging stand of the universal tandem compact stand group have rolls with offset passage for dummy passes, and wherein the first universal roll stand is movable and is placed in front of two grooves each of the two-high edging stand in the first rolling line and the second universal stand, the method comprising the steps of:
- carrying out an edging pass as a guide pass through the two-high edging stand in the first rolling line;
- carrying out reversing dummy passes through the second universal roll stand and the two-high edging stand in the first rolling line;
- carrying out a universal pass in the first universal roll stand;
- carrying out another reversing universal pass in the same groove of the first universal roll stand;
- carrying out additional dummy passes through the two-high edging stand in the first rolling line and the second universal roll stand;
- carrying out another reversing edging pass through the two-high edging stand in the first rolling line;
- carrying out a reversing universal pass in the main rolling line in the same groove of the first universal roll stand;
- carrying out an edging pass through the two-high edging stand in the first rolling line; and
- carrying out a universal pass as a finishing pass on the second universal roll stand.
- 5. A method for rolling rails in a rolling mill including a universal tandem compact stand group with at least a first universal roll stand and a second universal roll stand and a two-high edging stand, additional universal roll stands and a first two-high roll stand and a second two-high roll stand and a third two-high roll stand and a first two-high edging stand and a second two-high edging stand and a third two-high edging stand, the stands being arranged in rolling positions on an outer main rolling line and on at least an additional first rolling line and a second rolling line and a third rolling line, the rolling lines extending in a rolling direction, the stands having axes extending transversely of the rolling direction, means for displacing the sections in the direction of the rolling lines and means for displacing the sections transversely of the rolling line, rolling line displacement means for displacing the stands in the direction of the rolling lines and transverse displacement means for displacing the stands transversely from one of the rolling lines to another of the rolling lines, driving means arranged stationary next to the rolling positions on the outer main rolling line, and coupling means for coupling the driving means with the stands and with transmission means arranged in the rolling positions which are located adjacent the driving means and adjacent each other in axial direction of the stand, the method comprising the steps of:
- carrying out a universal pass through the second universal roll stand placed in the main rolling line;
- carrying out a first edging pass through the two-high edging stand arranged in the main rolling line following the second universal roll stand;
- carrying out a dummy pass through the two-high edging stand in the main rolling line;
- carrying out two additional reversing universal passes through the second universal roll stand;
- carrying out another dummy pass through the two-high edging stand in the main rolling line;
- carrying out a second edging pass through the first two-high edging stand placed in the first rolling line and a universal pass through another universal roll stand placed in the first rolling line following the first two-high edging stand;
- carrying out an edging stand on the second two-high edging stand placed in the second rolling line; and
- carrying out a universal pass as a finishing pass on the first universal roll stand.
- 6. A method for rolling rails in a rolling mill including a universal tandem compact stand group with at least a first universal roll stand and a second universal roll stand and a two-high edging stand, additional universal roll stands and a first two-high roll stand and a second two-high roll stand and a third two-high roll stand and a first two-high edging stand and a second two-high edging stand and a third two-high edging stand, the stands being arranged in rolling positions on an outer main rolling line and on at least an additional first rolling line and a second rolling line and a third rolling line, the rolling lines extending in a rolling direction, the stands having axes extending transversely of the rolling direction, means for displacing the sections in the direction of the rolling lines and means for displacing the sections transversely of the rolling line, rolling line displacement for displacing the stands in the direction of the rolling lines and transverse displacement means for displacing the stands transversely from one of the rolling lines to another of the rolling lines, driving means arranged stationary next to the rolling positions on the outer main rolling line, and coupling means for coupling the driving means with the stands and with transmission means arranged in the rolling positions which are located adjacent the driving means and adjacent each other in axial direction of the stand, the method comprising the steps of:
- carrying out three reversing universal passes through the second universal roll stand placed in the main rolling line;
- carrying out an edging pass through the first two-high edging stand placed in the first rolling line;
- carrying out two universal passes on the first universal roll stand placed in the first rolling line;
- carrying out a dummy pass through the two-high edging stand in the first rolling line;
- carrying out a reversing edging pass on the two-high edging pass on the two-high edging stand in the first rolling line;
- carrying out another universal pass through the first universal roll stand;
- carrying out an edging pass through the second two-high edging stand placed in the second rolling line; and
- carrying out a universal pass as a finishing pass on another universal roll stand placed in the second rolling line.
- 7. A method for rolling rails in a rolling mill including a universal tandem compact stand group with at least a first universal roll stand and a second universal roll stand and a two-high edging stand, additional universal roll stands and a first two-high roll stand and a second two-high roll stand and a third two-high roll stand and a first two-high edging stand and a second two-high edging stand and a third two-high edging stand, the stands being arranged in rolling positions on an outer main rolling line and on at least an additional first rolling line and a second rolling line and a third rolling line, the rolling lines extending in a rolling direction, the stands having axes extending transversely of the rolling direction, means for displacing the sections in the direction of the rolling lines and means for displacing the sections transversely of the rolling line, rolling line displacement means for displacing the stands in the direction of the rolling lines and transverse displacement means for displacing the stands transversely from one of the rolling lines to another of the rolling lines, driving means arranged stationary next to the rolling positions on the outer main rolling line, and coupling means for coupling the driving means with the stands and with transmission means arranged in the rolling positions which are located adjacent the driving means and adjacent each other in axial direction of the stand, wherein the second universal roll stand has an outer groove and an inner groove, the method comprising the steps of:
- carrying out a first universal pass in the outer groove of the second universal roll stand placed in the main rolling line;
- carrying out a reversing second universal pass in the outer groove of the second universal roll stand;
- carrying out another universal pass in the inner groove of the second universal roll stand;
- carrying out a dummy pass through the two-high edging stand of the universal tandem compact stand group placed in the first rolling line;
- carrying out reversing third and fourth universal passes through the first universal roll stand placed on the first rolling line;
- carrying out a dummy pass through the two-high edging stand in the first rolling line;
- carrying out a reversing edging pass through the two-high edging stand in the first rolling line and a fifth universal pass through the first universal roll stand;
- carrying out a second edging pass through the first two-high edging stand placed in the second rolling line; and
- carrying out a sixth universal pass as a finishing pass through another universal roll stand placed in the second rolling line.
- 8. A method for rolling rails in a rolling mill including a universal tandem compact stand group with at least a first universal roll stand and a second universal roll stand and a two-high edging stand, additional universal roll stands and a first two-high roll stand and a second two-high roll stand and a third two-high roll stand and a first two-high edging stand and a second two-high edging stand and a third two-high edging stand, the stands being arranged in rolling positions on an outer main rolling line and on at least an additional first rolling line and a second rolling line and a third rolling line, the rolling lines extending in a rolling direction, the stands having axes extending transversely of the rolling direction, means for displacing the sections in the direction of the rolling lines and means for displacing the sections transversely of the rolling line, rolling line displacement means for displacing the stands in the direction of the rolling lines and transverse displacement means for displacing the stands transversely from one of the rolling lines to another of the rolling lines, driving means arranged stationary next to the rolling positions on the outer main rolling lines, and coupling means for coupling the driving means with the stands and with transmission means arranged in the rolling positions which are located adjacent the driving means and adjacent each other in axial direction of the stand, the method comprising the steps of:
- carrying out two universal passes in the main rolling line and dummy passes through the two-high edging stand of the universal tandem compact stand group;
- subsequently carrying out an edging stand as a guide pass in the two-high edging stand of the universal tandem compact stand group;
- carrying out a dummy pass through the second universal roll stand placed in the main rolling line;
- carrying out another dummy pass through the first two-high edging stand placed in the first rolling line;
- carrying out two reversing universal passes through the first universal roll stand placed in the first rolling line;
- carrying out a dummy pass through the first two-high edging stand;
- carrying out another edging pass on the first two-high edging stand and a universal pass through the first universal roll stand placed in the first rolling line;
- carrying out another edging pass through the second edging pass placed in the second rolling line; and
- carrying out a universal pass as a finishing pass through a further universal roll stand placed in the second rolling line.
- 9. A method for rolling rails in a rolling mill including a universal tandem compact stand group with at least a first universal roll stand and a second universal roll stand and a two-high edging stand, additional universal roll stands and a first two-high roll stand and a second two-high roll stand and a third two-high roll stand and a first two-high edging stand and a second two-high edging stand and a third two-high edging stand, the stands being arranged in rolling positions on an outer main rolling line and on at least an additional first rolling line and a second rolling line and a third rolling line, the rolling lines extending in a rolling direction, the stands having axes extending transversely of the rolling direction, means for displacing the sections in the direction of the rolling lines and means for displacing the sections transversely of the rolling line, rolling line displacement means for displacing the stands in the direction of the rolling lines and transverse displacement means for displacing the stands transversely from one of the rolling lines to another of the rolling lines, driving means arranged stationary next to the rolling positions on the outer main rolling line, and coupling means for coupling the driving means with the stands and with transmission means arranged in the rolling positions which are located adjacent the driving means and adjacent each other in axial direction of the stand, the rolling mill further including a further two-high edging stand arranged in front of the universal tandem compact stand group in the main rolling line, the method comprising the steps of:
- carrying out a guide pass through the further two-high edging stand;
- subsequently carrying out a universal pass through a subsequent universal roll stand;
- subsequently carrying out two dummy passes through the open two-high edging stand of the universal stand of the universal tandem compact stand group and through an open other universal roll stand and reversing the dummy passes;
- carrying out another universal pass through the subsequent universal roll stand;
- carrying out a second edging pass through the further two-high edging stand using the same pass configuration as in the preceding pass through the further two-high edging stand;
- carrying out a universal pass through the subsequent universal roll stand;
- carrying out a third edging pass through the further two-high edging stand; and
- carrying out a universal pass as the finishing pass through the other universal roll stand.
- 10. The method according to claim 9, wherein the two-high edging stand of the universal tandem compact stand group includes two adjacent edging grooves, the method further comprising carrying out the universal pass through the subsequent universal roll stand through one of the grooves of the two-high edging stand and carrying out the pass preceding the finishing pass through the other of the grooves of the two-high edging stand.
- 11. A method for thermo-mechanic rolling of sections, especially beams or sheet piles, in a rolling mill including a universal tandem compact stand group with at least a first universal roll stand and a second universal roll stand and a two-high edging stand, additional universal roll stands and a first two-high roll stand and a second two-high roll stand and a third two-high roll stand and a first two-high edging stand and a second two-high edging stand and a third two-high edging stand, the stands being arranged in rolling positions on an outer main rolling line and on at least an additional first rolling line and a second rolling line and a third rolling line, the rolling lines extending in a rolling direction, the stands having axes extending transversely of the rolling direction, means for displacing the sections in the direction of the rolling lines and means for displacing the sections transversely of the rolling line, rolling line displacement means for displacing the stands in the direction of the rolling lines and transverse displacement means for displacing the stands transversely from one of the rolling lines to another of the rolling lines, driving means arranged stationary next to the rolling positions on the outer main rolling line, and coupling means for coupling the driving means with the stands and with transmission means arranged in the rolling positions which are located adjacent the driving means and adjacent each other in axial direction of the stand, the method comprising the steps of:
- feeding a preformed rolling bar, simultaneously with a preforming step of a subsequent rolling bar, to a first of the transverse displacement means;
- depositing the rolling bar on the first transverse displacement means and subjecting the rolling bar to cooling air or water; and
- cooling the rolling bar to a predetermined temperature.
- 12. The method according to claim 11, further comprising the steps of:
- removing the preformed rolling bar after the initial shaping passes by means of one of the transverse displacement means from one of the rolling line displacement means acting on roll stands placed in the main rolling line;
- depositing and cooling the preformed rolling bar on the transverse displacement means until a shaping pass rolling of the subsequent rolling bar has concluded, and
- when the subsequent rolling bar is removed by means of the transverse displacement means, feeding the preformed rolling bar over the second rolling line to one of the rolling line displacement means in the third rolling line; and
- subjecting the preformed rolling bar to additional shaping passes and subsequently returning the preformed rolling bar to the second rolling line and finish-rolling the preformed rolling bar with continuous successive finishing passes.
- 13. The method according to claim 11, further comprising the steps of:
- transporting the preformed rolling bar from a first of the rolling line displacement means by means of the first transverse displacement means;
- depositing the preformed rolling bar on the first transverse displacement means until a subsequent rolling bar is rolled, cooling the preformed rolling bar and, when the subsequent rolling bar is removed by means of the first transverse displacement means, transferring the preformed rolling bar onto a second of the rolling line displacement means in the second rolling line;
- returning the rolling bar by means of a second of the transverse displacement means onto a rolling line displacement means placed in the main rolling line; and
- finish-rolling the rolling bar in the universal tandem compact stand group.
- 14. The method according to claim 13, with a further two-high edging stand being provided in the second rolling line, the method further comprising carrying out the finish-rolling step by partial final shaping of the bar to form a beam in the two-high edging stand in the second rolling line, wherein the two-high edging stand acts on a stem of the beam.
- 15. The method according to claim 13, with a further universal roll stand being provided in the second rolling line, the method further comprising carrying out the finish-rolling step by partial final shaping of the bar to form a beam in the further universal roll stand in the second rolling line, wherein the universal roll stand acts on an outer flange of the beam.
