Claims
- 1. A method for treating inflammation in a patient requiring such treatment, which comprises administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of the formula ##STR11## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each hydrogen, alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or hydroxyalkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen or alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.4 is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, hydroxy, or alkoxy of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.5 is nitrile, carboxyl, or --COOR.sub.8 ;
- R.sub.6 is alkyl of from 1 to 7 carbon atoms, hydroxyl, hydrogen, or OR.sub.7 ;
- R.sub.7 is alkyl of from 1 to 7 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.8 is alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and ##STR12## wherein R.sub.9 is alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or a physiologically acceptable salt of the compound.
- 2. A method as recited in claim 1 wherein the patient is human.
