Claims
- 1. A method for treating sexual dysfunction comprising administering to a mammal in need of such treatment, an effective amount 2-methyl-4-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-10H-thieno[2,3-b][1,5] benzodiazepine, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
- 2. A method of claim 1 wherein 2-methyl-4-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-10H-thieno[2,3-b][1,5] benzodiazepine is substantially pure Form I 2-methyl-4-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-10H-thieno[2,3-b][1,5] benzodiazepine having a typical X-ray powder diffraction pattern substantially as follows, using a Sieman's D5000 diffractometer wherein d represents the interplaner spacing:
- 3. A method of claim 1 or 2 wherein the sexual dysfunction is a erectile dysfunction.
- 4. A method of claim 1 or 2 wherein the sexual dysfunction is decreased libido.
- 5. A method of claim 1 wherein the sexual dysfunction is retarded ejaculation.
- 6. A method of claim 1 wherein the sexual dysfunction is anorgasmy.
- 7. A method of claim 1 or 2 wherein the sexual dysfunction is disease related.
- 8. A method of claim 1 or 2 wherein the sexual dysfunction is drug-induced.
- 9. A method of claim 1 or 2 wherein the sexual dysfunction is naturally occurring.
- 10. A method of claim 1 or 2 wherein the effective amount is from about 1 mg to about 20 mg per day.
