Claims
- 1. A kit for the vitrification of a biological specimen, comprising:
(a) a loop; and (b) instructions for vitrifying a developmental cell wherein the developmental cell is directly exposed to a freezing material.
- 2. The kit of claim 1, further comprising:
(c) a vial, wherein the vial is of an appropriate size and shape for storing the loop containing a vitrified biological specimen.
- 3. The kit of claim 1, further comprising:
(c) a base medium.
- 4. The kit of claim 1 wherein the loop is capable of holding a volume of 1-5 μl.
- 5. The kit of claim 1 wherein the loop has a width of 20 μm.
- 6. The kit of claim 1 wherein the loop has a diameter of 0.5 mm to 0.7 mm.
- 7. The kit of claim 1, further comprising:
(c) a devitrification solution.
- 8. The kit of claim 1, further comprising:
(c) a freezing material.
- 9. A kit for the vitrification of a biological specimen, comprising:
(a) a loop; (b) instructions for vitrifying a developmental cell wherein the developmental cell is directly exposed to a freezing material; (c) a vial, wherein the vial is of an appropriate size and shape for storing the loop containing a vitrified biological specimen; and (d) a base medium.
- 10. The kit of claim 9, further comprising:
(e) a devitrification solution.
- 11. The kit of claim 9, further comprising:
(e) a freezing material.
- 12. The kit of claim 9 wherein the loop is capable of holding a volume of 1-5 μl.
- 13. The kit of claim 9 wherein the loop has a width of 20 μm.
- 14. The kit of claim 9 wherein the loop has a diameter of 0.5 mm to 0.7 mm.
