Claims
- 1. A method for wrapping a floral grouping comprising:
- providing a sheet of material having an upper surface, a lower surface and an outer periphery, a bonding material being disposed on the sheet of material, and a first sizing mark and a second sizing mark being disposed on the sheet of material;
- providing the floral grouping having a flower end and a stem end;
- disposing the floral grouping on the sheet of material; and
- wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping to a position wherein the first sizing mark is substantially aligned with the second sizing mark and a portion of the sheet of material is brought into bonding contact with the bonding material on the sheet of material for bondingly connecting said portion of the sheet of material to another portion of the sheet of material to secure the sheet of material in a wrapped condition about the floral grouping so as to form a wrapper for the floral grouping having an upper end and a lower end, the floral grouping being disposed on the sheet of material and wrapped with the sheet of material whereby the flower end of the floral grouping is disposed near the upper end of the wrapper and the stem end of the floral grouping is disposed near the lower end of the wrapper, the first and second sizing marks being positioned on the sheet of material so that, when the sheet of material is wrapped about the floral grouping to the position wherein the first sizing mark is substantially aligned with the second sizing mark, the upper end of the wrapper has a perimeter length predetermined by alignment of the first and second sizing marks on the sheet of material.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises bonding the overlapping portions of the sheet of material whereby there are substantially no flaps formed by unbonded portions of the sheet of material.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises bonding the overlapping portions of the sheet of material such that the sheet of material is tightly wrapped about the stem end of the floral grouping.
- 4. The method of claim 3 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises wrapping the sheet about the floral grouping such that the sheet of material substantially encompasses and surrounds a substantial portion of the flower end of the floral grouping.
- 5. The method of claim 4 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping such that the sheet of material is loosely wrapped about the flower end of the floral grouping.
- 6. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping with the sheet of material substantially encompassing and surrounding a substantial portion of the flower end of the floral grouping and being held about the floral grouping by the bonding of the overlapping portions of the sheet of material, the sheet of material being tightly wrapped about the stem end of the floral grouping and loosely wrapped about the flower end of the floral grouping.
- 7. The method of claim 6 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises leaving an opening extending through the upper end of the wrapped sheet of material with the flower end of the floral grouping being exposed near the opening in the upper end.
- 8. The method of claim 7 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises leaving an opening extending through the lower end of the wrapped sheet of material with the stem end of the floral grouping extending through the opening in the lower end,
- 9. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises leaving an opening extending through the upper end of the wrapped sheet of material with the flower end of the floral grouping being exposed near the opening in the upper end,
- 10. The method of claim 9 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises leaving an opening extending through the lower end of the wrapped sheet of material with the stem end of the floral grouping extending through the opening in the lower end.
- 11. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of providing a sheet of material with sizing marks thereon further comprises providing a sheet of material with a first sizing mark and a second sizing mark, said sizing marks being disposed on the lower surface of the sheet of material.
- 12. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of providing a sheet of material with sizing marks thereon further comprises providing a sheet of material with the first and second sizing marks thereon, said sheet of material being transparent or translucent and having the first sizing mark and the second sizing mark disposed on the upper surface of the sheet of material.
- 13. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises:
- placing a portion of the sheet of material over at least a portion of the floral grouping and rolling the sheet of material and the floral grouping and wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping, the bonding material on the sheet of material being adhesively connected to another portion of the sheet of material for securing the sheet of material in a wrapped position about the floral grouping to form the wrapper.
- 14. The method of claim 1 wherein the sheet of material further comprises a first side, a second side, a third side and a fourth side, and wherein the bonding material is disposed on the upper surface of the sheet of material near the first side of the sheet of material, and wherein the step of disposing the floral grouping on the sheet of material further comprises:
- placing the floral grouping on the upper surface of the sheet of material near the second side of the sheet of material, and wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises: placing a portion of the sheet of material
- near the second side thereof over a portion of the floral grouping and rolling the sheet of material and the floral grouping until the sheet of material is rolled about the floral grouping, the bonding material on the sheet of material being adhesively connected to a portion of the sheet of material to form the wrapper as the sheet of material and the floral grouping are rolled over the bonding material.
- 15. The method of claim 1 wherein, in the step of providing a sheet of material, the sheet of material further comprises a first side, a second side, a third side and a fourth side, and wherein the bonding material is disposed on the upper surface of the sheet of material near the first side of the sheet of material, and wherein the first side of the sheet of material constitutes the first sizing mark so that, when the sheet of material is wrapped about the floral grouping to the position wherein the first side of the material is substantially aligned with the second sizing mark, the upper end of the wrapper has a perimeter length predetermined by alignment of the first side of the sheet of material and second sizing mark on the sheet of material.
- 16. The method of claim 1 wherein the sheet of material further comprises a first side, a second side, a third side and a fourth side, and wherein the bonding material is disposed on the upper surface of the sheet of material near the first side and extending a distance therefrom toward the second side of the sheet of material, and wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises:
- placing a portion of the sheet of material near the juncture of the second side and third side thereof over a portion of the floral grouping and rolling the sheet Of material and the floral grouping until the sheet of material is rolled about the floral grouping wherein the first sizing mark is substantially aligned with the second sizing mark, the bonding material on the sheet of material being bondingly connected to a portion of the sheet of material to form the wrapper as the sheet of material and the floral grouping are rolled over the bonding material.
- 17. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of providing a sheet of material further comprises providing a sheet of material wherein the sheet of material has a thickness in a range of from about 0.2 mil to about 10 mils.
- 18. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of providing a sheet of material further comprises providing a sheet of material wherein the sheet of material has a thickness in a range of from about 0.5 mils to about 2.5 mils.
- 19. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of providing a sheet of material further comprises providing a sheet of material constructed from a material selected from the group consisting of paper, foil, polymer film, cellophane, cloth, burlap and combinations thereof.
- 20. A method for wrapping a floral grouping comprising:
- providing a sheet of material having an upper surface, a lower surface and an outer periphery, a bonding material being disposed on the sheet of material, a first sizing mark and a second sizing mark being provided on the sheet of material;
- providing the floral grouping having a flower end and a stem end;
- disposing the floral grouping on the sheet of material; and
- wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping by placing a portion of the sheet of material over at least a portion of the floral grouping and rolling the sheet of material and the floral grouping and wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping to a position wherein the first sizing mark is substantially aligned with the second sizing mark and a portion of the sheet of material is brought into bonding contact with the bonding material on the sheet of material for bondingly connecting said portion of the sheet of material to another portion of the sheet of material to secure the sheet of material in a wrapped condition about the floral grouping to form a wrapper for the floral grouping whereby there are substantially no flaps formed by unbonded portions of the sheet of material, the wrapper having an upper end and a lower end, the floral grouping being disposed on the sheet of material and wrapped within the sheet of material whereby the flower end of the floral grouping is disposed near the upper end of the wrapper and the stem end of the floral grouping is disposed near the lower end of the wrapper, the first and second sizing marks being positioned on the sheet of material so that, when the sheet of material is wrapped about the floral grouping to the position wherein the first sizing mark is substantially aligned with the second sizing mark, the upper end of the wrapper has a perimeter length predetermined by the position of the first and second sizing marks of the sheet of material.
- 21. The method of claim 20 wherein the sheet of material further comprises a first side, a second side, a third side and a fourth side, and wherein the bonding material is disposed on the upper surface of the sheet of material near the first side and extending a distance therefrom toward the second side of the sheet of material, the bonding material extending substantially along a length of the sheet of material defined by the distance between the third and fourth sides of the sheet of material, and wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises:
- placing a portion of the sheet of material near the juncture of the second side and the third side thereof over a portion of the floral grouping and rolling the sheet of material and the floral grouping until the sheet of material is rolled about the floral grouping wherein the first sizing mark is substantially aligned with the second sizing mark, the bonding material on the sheet of material being bondingly connected to a portion of the sheet of material to form the wrapper as the sheet of materiaI and the floral grouping are rolled over the bonding material.
- 22. The method of claim 21 wherein the first side of the sheet of material constitutes the first sizing mark so that, when the sheet of material is wrapped about the floral grouping to the position wherein the first side of the material is substantially aligned with the second sizing mark, the upper end of the wrapper has a perimeter length predetermined by alignment of the first side of the sheet of material and second sizing mark on the sheet of material.
- 23. The method of claim 20 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping with the sheet of material substantially encompassing and surrounding a substantial portion of the flower end of the floral grouping and being held about the floral grouping by the bonding of the overlapping portions of the sheet of material, and the sheet of material being tightly wrapped about the stem end of the floral grouping and loosely wrapped about the flower end of the floral grouping.
- 24. The method of claim 20 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises leaving an opening extending through the upper end of the wrapped sheet of material with the flower end of the floral grouping being exposed near the opening in the upper end.
- 25. The method of claim 20 wherein the step of wrapping the sheet of material about the floral grouping further comprises leaving an opening extending through the lower end of the wrapped sheet of material with the stem end of the floral grouping extending through the opening in the lower end.
- 26. The method of claim 20 wherein, in the step of providing a sheet of material, the first and second sizing marks are disposed on the lower surface of the sheet of material.
- 27. The method of claim 20 wherein, in the step of providing a sheet of material, said sheet of material is transparent or translucent and the first and second sizing marks are disposed on the upper surface of the sheet of material.
- 28. The method of claim 24 wherein, in the step of providing a sheet of material, the sheet of material has a thickness in a range of from about 0.2 mil to about 10 mils.
- 29. The method of claim 24 wherein, in the step of providing a sheet of material, the sheet of material has a thickness in a range of from about 0.5 mils to about 2.5 mils.
- 30. The method of claim 25 wherein, in the step of providing a sheet of material, the sheet of material is constructed from a material selected from the group of materials consisting of paper, foil, polymer film, cellulose, cloth, burlap and combinations thereof.
