Claims
- 1. A method of producing a textured surface on a planar workpiece, comprising the steps of
- (a) driving a spaced pair of opposed endless belts of a double-belt pressing mechanism, the opposed portions of said belts being driven in the same direction;
- (b) applying raised textured components onto the outer surface of at least one of said driven belts;
- (c) passing a workpiece between the opposed portions of said belts, said textured components on said one belt surface contacting a surface of the workpiece;
- (d) pressing said endless belts together to press said textured components against said workpiece surface in order to imprint a pattern in said workpieces surface in accordance with said textured components; and
- (e) removing said components from said pressing mechanism outer surfaces following at least one contact of the workpiece with said components of said pressing mechanism outer surface.
