Claims
- 1. A method for the anionic polymerization of at least one .omega.-aminoacid lactam of the formula ##STR13## wherein a is an integer ranging from 3 to 11 which comprises effecting polymerization at elevated temperatures in the presence of an initiator for the anionic polymerization of lactams, said initiator having the formula
- MeZX.sub.m L.sub.n
- wherein Me is an alkali metal selected from the group consisting of lithium, sodium and potassium, Z is selected from the group consisting of aluminum and boron, X is an alkoxy group of 3 to 6 carbon atoms and L is an organic residue derived from lactam of the formula ##STR14## wherein a is an integer from 3 to 11, m is an integer selected from 0, 1 and 3, the sum of m+n is 4, or n is (4-m) and an activator for the anionic polymerization of lactam, so resulting in a solid crystalline lactam polymer.
- 2. Method in accordance with claim 1, wherein said activator is an isocyanate.
