- (c) placing said spring in said brush box;
- (d) engaging arms of said brush box cover with said shoulders of said brush box;
- (e) compressing said spring between said brush box cover and said brush; and
- (f) disengaging said brush box cover from said brush box without disassembling said end cap from said electric motor housing.
- 8. A method of assembling an electric motor brush holder assembly, said method comprising:
- (a) creating a brush box cover;
- (b) sliding a spring over an electrical cable;
- (c) crimping a brush shunt to said electrical cable;
- (d) flexing said electrical cable;
- (e) folding said brush shunt in relation to said electrical cable by interfacing said crimp against said brush box cover; and
- (f) attaching said brush box cover to an external surface of an electric motor in a screw-free and snap fit manner.
- 9. The method of claim 8 further comprising the step of locating said crimp between said brush box cover and a brush.
- 10. The method of claim 9 further comprising the step of locating said crimp substantially between an outboard end of said spring and an inner surface of said brush box cover.
- 11. The method of claim 8 further comprising the steps of:
- (a) flexing said brush shunt; and
- (b) flexing said electrical cable.
- 12. A method of assembling an electric motor brush holder assembly having a crimp connecting a brush shunt to an electrical conductor, said method comprising:
- (a) forming a brush box partially within and partially external to an electric motor end cap;
- (b) forming shoulders outwardly extending from an external segment of said brush box;
- (c) placing a brush into said brush box;
- (d) engaging arms of a brush box cover with said shoulders of said brush box thereby securing said brush box cover to said brush box; and
- (e) folding said brush shunt in relation to said electrical conductor by interfacing said crimp against said brush box cover.
- 13. The method of claim 12 further comprising the step of crimping a brush shunt to an electrical conductor.
- 14. The method of claim 13 further comprising the step of locating said crimp between said brush box cover and said brush.
- 15. The method of claim 14 further comprising the step of locating said crimp substantially between an outboard end of a spring and an inner surface of said brush box cover.
- 16. The method of claim 12 further comprising the steps of angling a portion of a electrical conductor adjacent to a brush shunt substantially perpendicular to an elongated direction of said brush and exiting said angled portion of said electrical conductor from a brush box.
- 17. The method of claim 12 further comprising the step of disengaging said arms of said brush box cover from said shoulders of said brush box without disassembling said end cap from said electric motor.
- 18. A method of assembling an electric motor brush holder assembly, said method comprising:
- (a) crimping a brush shunt to an electrical cable;
- (b) causing crimped ends of said brush shunt and said electrical cable to extend substantially parallel to each other and to terminate adjacent to each other;
- (c) folding said brush shunt in relation to said electrical cable such that said electrical cable is oriented generally perpendicular to a radial direction of said brush shunt and an elongated direction of a brush;
- (e) flexing said brush shunt;
- (f) flexing said electrical cable; and
