Claims
- 1. A method of dissolving contaminants or removing contaminants from the surface of a substrae which comprises the step of:
- (a) contacting said substrate surface with a hydrochlorofluorocarbon from the class of hydrochlorofluorocarbons having a tertiary strucutre, 5 carbon atoms, 1 chlorine atom, 6 to 8 fluorine atoms, and OH rate constants between about 8 and about 15 cm.sup.3 /molecule/secx10.sup.-14 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbons are CF.sub.3 C(CF.sub.3)(H)CFClCH.sub.3 ; CF.sub.2 ClC(CF.sub.3)(H)CF.sub.2 CH.sub.3 ; CF.sub.2 HC(CH.sub.3)(Cl)CF.sub.2 CF.sub.3 ; CF.sub.3 C(CH.sub.3 (Cl)CFHCF.sub.3 ; CF.sub.2 HC(CH.sub.3)(F)CF.sub.2 CF.sub.2 Cl; CFClHC(CH.sub.3)(F)CF.sub.2 CF.sub.3 ; CF.sub.2 HC(CH.sub.3)(F)CFClCF.sub.3 ; CF.sub.3 C(CH.sub.3)(F)(CFHCF.sub.2 Cl; CF.sub.2 ClC(CH.sub.3)(F)CFHCF.sub.3 ; CF.sub.2 ClC(CF.sub.2 H)(F)CF.sub.2 CH.sub.3 ; CF.sub.3 C(CF.sub.3)(Cl)CH.sub.2 CFH.sub.2 ; CF.sub.3 C(CF.sub.2 Cl)(F)CH.sub.2 CF.sub.2 H; CF.sub.3 C(CF.sub.3)(H)CHClCH.sub.3 ; and CF.sub.3 C(CF.sub.3)(F)CH.sub.2 CClH.sub.2 as solvent and
- (b) substantially dissolving or removing said contaminants from said substrate surface.
- 2. The method of claim 1, where said hydrochlorofluorocarbons are CF.sub.3 C(CF.sub.3)(H)CFClCH.sub.3 ; CF.sub.2 ClC(CF.sub.3)(H)CF.sub.2 CH.sub.3 ; CF.sub.2 HC(CH.sub.3)(Cl)CF.sub.2 CF.sub.3 ; CF.sub.3 C(CH.sub.3)(Cl)CFHCF.sub.3 ; CF.sub.3 C(CF.sub.3)(H)CClHCH.sub.3 ; and CF.sub.3 C(CF.sub.3)(F)CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 Cl.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CH.sub.3 C(CF.sub.3)(H)CFClCH.sub.3.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CF.sub.2 ClC(CF.sub.3)(H)CF.sub.2 CH.sub.3.
- 5. The emthod of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CF.sub.2 HC(CH.sub.3 (Cl)CF.sub.2 CF.sub.3.
- 6. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CF.sub.3 C(CH.sub.3)(Cl)CFHCF.sub.3.
- 7. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CF.sub.2 HC(CH.sub.3)(F)CF.sub.2 CF.sub.2 Cl.
- 8. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CFClHC(CH.sub.3)(F)CF.sub.2 CF.sub.3.
- 9. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CF.sub.2 HC(CH.sub.3)(F)CFClCF.sub.3.
- 10. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CF.sub.3 C(CH.sub.3)(F)CFHCF.sub.2 Cl.
- 11. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CF.sub.2 ClC(CF.sub.3)(F)CFHCF.sub.3.
- 12. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CF.sub.2 ClC(CF.sub.2 H)(F)CF.sub.2 CH.sub.3.
- 13. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CF.sub.3 C(CF.sub.3)(Cl)CH.sub.2 CFH.sub.2.
- 14. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CF.sub.3 C(CF.sub.2 Cl)(F)CH.sub.2 CF.sub.2 H.
- 15. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CF.sub.3 C(CF.sub.3)(H)CHClCH.sub.3.
- 16. The method of claim 1 wherein said hydrochlorofluorocarbon is CF.sub.3 C(CF.sub.3)(F)CH.sub.2 CClH.sub.2.
