Claims
- 1. A control apparatus in a compression ignition internal combustion engine of a premixed type in which a premixed mixture gas is ignited under compression by a piston, wherein a volume of fuel spray impinging upon an inner wall surface of a combustion chamber is controlled so as to be continuously or stepwise increased as engine speed is changed from a low value to a high value; in a compression ignition operation range in order to adjust the crank angle with which the pressure of the combustion chamber becomes maximum for improving the engine thermal efficiency.
- 2. A control apparatus in a compression ignition internal combustion engine of a premixed mixture type in which a premixed mixture gas is ignited under compression by a piston, including a fuel injector for injecting fuel into an intake port through which air is fed into a combustion chamber wherein the timing of injection of fuel spray from the injector into the intake port is continuously or stepwise advanced from air-intake stroke injection to exhaust stroke injection as engine speed is changed from a low value to a high value, in a compression ignition operation range.
- 3. A control apparatus in a compression ignition internal combustion engine of a premixed mixture type in which a premixed mixture gas is ignited under compression by a piston, including a pressure sensor for detecting a pressure in a combustion chamber and a crank angle sensor for detecting a rotating angle of a crank shaft, wherein the timing of ignition is controlled so as to cause a maximum value of the pressure in the combustion chamber, detected by the pressure sensor, to fall in a range from 10 to 15 deg. after a top dead center of compression, in a compression ignition range.
- 4. A control apparatus in a compression ignition internal combustion engine of a premixed mixture type, which receives outputs from a pressure sensor for detecting a pressure in a combustion chamber, a crank angle sensor for detecting a rotating angle of a crank shaft, and which controls the timing of ignition so as to cause a maximum value of the pressure in the combustion chamber, detected by the pressure sensor, to fall in a range from 10 to 15 deg. after a top dead center of compression in a compression ignition range.
