Claims
- 1. A method of correcting a data signal sampled at a first rate to a data signal displayed on a video monitor at a second rate, said method comprising:
receiving the data signal at the first rate; separating the data signal into at least one data window, each data window having therein a predetermined number of data points having respective values; identifying at least one of either a minimum and maximum value of the data points; identifying a position of the one of the minimum and maximum value relative to a reference; and displaying the data point having the one of the minimum and maximum value at the position.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein multiple data signals are received and processed at approximately the same time.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein each data window has four data points.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the data window has a last data point, and wherein the position of the reference is the last data point of the data window.
- 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the act of separating the data signal into at least one data window includes identifying two adjacent data windows, and wherein the act of identifying at least one of either a minimum and maximum value of the data points includes identifying both a minimum and maximum data point value.
- 6. The method of claim 1, wherein the first rate is approximately 240 Hertz.
- 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the first rate is approximately 120 Hertz.
- 8. The method of claim 1, wherein the act of separating the data signal occurs at the second rate.
- 9. The method of claim 8, wherein the second rate is less than the first rate.
- 10. The method of claim 9, wherein the second rate is approximately 60 Hertz.
- 11. The method of claim 1, wherein the act of identifying a position of the one of the minimum and maximum value relative to a reference further comprises the act of identifying a difference in position between the data points of the data window.
- 12. An apparatus comprising:
an input for receiving a first data signal sampled at a first rate; and means for converting the first data signal to a second data signal sampled at a second rate and for displaying the second data signal on a video monitor.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein multiple first data signals are received at approximately the same time.
- 14. The apparatus of claim 12, further comprising a separator to separate the first data signal into at least one data window.
- 15. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the data window has a predetermined number of data points having respective values.
- 16. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the separator separates the data signal into groups of two data windows.
- 17. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the separator selects the position of a minimum data point value and the position of a maximum data point value.
- 18. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the first rate is approximately 240 Hertz.
- 19. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the first rate is approximately 120 Hertz.
- 20. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the second rate is less than the first rate.
- 21. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the second rate is approximately 60 Hertz.
- 22. An apparatus comprising:
an input for receiving a first data signal sampled at a first rate; and a converter for sampling the first data signal at a second rate to generate therefrom a second data signal having data points such that the position of the data points relative to one another is approximately the same position as the data points had relative to one another in the first data signal.
- 23. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein multiple first data signals are received at approximately the same time.
- 24. The apparatus of claim 22, further comprising a video monitor for displaying the second data signal.
- 25. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein the data window has a predetermined number of data points having respective values.
- 26. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein the first rate is approximately 240 Hertz.
- 27. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein the first rate is approximately 120 Hertz.
- 28. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein the second rate is less than the first rate.
- 29. The apparatus of claim 28, wherein the second rate is approximately 60 Hertz.
