Claims
- 1. A demulsifying agent comprising:
- (a) an adduct of a polyalkylene glycol having a molecular weight of greater than 6,000 and up to 26,000 and wherein the alkylene group comprises from 3 to 4 carbon atoms, and ethylene oxide, and
- (b) the adduct further being reacted with a diglycidyl ether to a product having the following formula: ##STR8## where R is CH.sub.3 or C.sub.2 H.sub.5,
- m is an integer ranging from 1 to 100,
- n is an integer ranging from 120 to 350,
- X is selected from the group consisting of bisphenol A: (CH.sub.2).sub.p ; and ##STR9## where p is an integer ranging from 1 to 10; s is an integer ranging from 1 to 100.
- 2. The demulsifying agent of claim 1 wherein the adduct is prepared by reacting (a) and (b) compounds at a mole ratio ranging from 5:1 to 1:100.
- 3. The compound of claim 1 wherein the polyalkylene glycol has a molecular weight of 8,000 to 18,000.
- 4. The demulsifying agent of claim 1 wherein R is CH.sub.3.
- 5. A water-in-oil demulsifying agent comprising a blend of:
- (a) the demulsifying agent according to claim 20, and
- (b) oxyalkylated phenol formaldehyde resin having a molecular weight between 1,000 to 20,000, wherein the adduct comprises at least 5 vol. % of the blend.
