Claims
- 1. A method of fabricating a sleeve for joining and sealing conduits, comprising:
providing a sleeve core having an inner surface and an outer surface; positioning an uncured elastomer-coated fabric on the inner surface and the outer surface of the sleeve core, such that portions of the fabric extend beyond the sleeve core; placing a porous material between the fabric portions that extend beyond the sleeve core; curing the fabric to the sleeve core; removing the porous material; and bonding the fabric portions that extend beyond the sleeve core.
- 2. The method of claim 1, further comprising positioning a band of uncured elastomer-coated fabric over the uncured elastomer-coated fabric positioned on the outer surface of the sleeve core prior to curing the fabric to the sleeve core.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein positioning uncured elastomer-coated fabric comprises positioning silicone coated fabric.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein placing the porous material comprises placing a breather material and a release film between the fabric portions that extend beyond the sleeve core, and wherein removing the porous material comprises removing the breather material and the release film.
