Claims
- 1. A method of using a monoclonal antibody AS33 (ATCC No. HB 8779) to image a colorectal carcinoma lesion in a human patient to indicate colon carcinoma which comprises administering to the patient an amount of the monoclonal antibody which is labelled with an imaging agent under conditions allowing formation of a complex between the labelled monoclonal antibody and the cell surface antigen effective to image the carcinoma lesion, imaging any complex so formed, and thereby imaging the colorectal carcinoma lesion to indicate colorectal carcinoma in the human patient.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the colorectal carcinoma lesion is a primary lesion.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the colorectal carcinoma is a metastatic lesion.
- 4. A method of claim 1, wherein the imaging agent is a radioisotope.
- 5. A method of claim 4, wherein the radioisotope comprises .sup.131 I.
- 6. A method of claim 5, wherein the amount of .sup.131 I is from 0.1 mci to 50.0 mci.
- 7. A method of claim 5, wherein the amount of .sup.131 I is from 2.0 mCi to 5.0 mCi.
- 8. A method of claim 1, wherein the monoclonal antibody is administered in an amount from 0.01 mg to 100 mg.
- 9. A method of claim 1, wherein the monoclonal antibody is administered in an amount from 0.2 mg to 50 mg.
- 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the monoclonal antibody is administered to intravenous infusion.
- 11. The method of claim 1, wherein the imaging of complex is carried out using single photon computed emission tomography (SPECT).
- 12. The method of claim 1, wherein the imaging of complex is carried out using a gamma camera.
