Claims
- 1. A method of implementing a cardiac emergency readiness program comprising the steps of:
providing at least one automatic external defibrillator; and preparing a cardiac arrest emergency response plan for a premises that details the procedures to be used during a cardiac arrest emergency.
- 2. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 1, further comprising the step of:
assisting in obtaining any permits or registrations for the purchase and use of the at least one automatic external defibrillator as required by local laws.
- 3. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 1, further comprising the steps of:
conducting a site survey to determine the optimal number and placement of the at least one automatic external defibrillator; placing the at least one automatic external defibrillator on the premises; training personnel on the proper use of the at least one automatic external defibrillator; and selecting personnel to call and serve as a liaison with professional emergency medical specialists who are called to the premises.
- 4. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 3, wherein:
the at least one automatic external defibrillator is accessible within three minutes of any location on the premises.
- 5. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 1, wherein:
the cardiac arrest emergency response plan contains information on the procedures to be used during a cardiac emergency, such as who is trained to use the at least one automatic external defibrillator, where the at least one automatic external defibrillator is located, and who should call and act as a liaison with emergency medical specialists.
- 6. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 1, further comprising the step of:
providing a public relations support plan that comprises informing the public of the cardiac emergency readiness program.
- 7. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 1, further comprising the step of:
providing a legal support plan comprising furnishing legal information relating to local laws and regulations, furnishing expert legal opinions and offering an indemnification plan.
- 8. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 1, further comprising the step of:
providing on-demand consultation regarding the cardiac emergency readiness program.
- 9. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 1, further comprising the step of:
providing an automatic external defibrillator usage review in the event of a cardiac incident.
- 10. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 1, further comprising the steps of:
conducting periodic quality assurance inspections to ensure proper operation of the at least one automatic external defibrillator; and offering replacement electrodes and batteries to replace defective or used electrodes and batteries.
- 11. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 1, further including the step of:
certifying that the premises has implemented the cardiac emergency readiness program.
- 12. A method of implementing a cardiac emergency readiness program comprising the steps of:
providing at least one automatic external defibrillator; assisting in obtaining any permits for the at least one automatic external defibrillator as required by local laws; conducting a site survey to determine the optimal number and placement of the at least one automatic external defibrillator; and preparing an emergency response plan that contains information on the procedures to be used during a cardiac emergency.
- 13. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 12, wherein:
the step of preparing an emergency response plan includes providing information on who is trained to use the at least one automatic external defibrillator, where the at least one automatic external defibrillator is located, and who should call and act as a liaison with emergency medical specialists.
- 14. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 12, further comprising the steps of:
placing the at least one automatic external defibrillator on the premises; and training personnel on the premises in the proper use of the at least one automatic external defibrillator.
- 15. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 13, further comprising the steps of:
providing a public relations support plan that includes announcing the cardiac emergency readiness program; providing a legal support plan that includes furnishing legal information concerning local laws and regulations, furnishing expert legal opinions and offering an indemnification plan; providing on-demand consultation regarding the cardiac emergency readiness program; and providing automatic external defibrillator usage review in the event of a cardiac incident.
- 16. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 14, further comprising the steps of:
conducting quality assurance inspections to ensure proper operation of the at least one automatic external defibrillator; offering replacement electrodes and batteries to replace defective or used electrodes and batteries; and certifying that the premises has implemented the cardiac emergency readiness program.
- 17. A method of implementing a cardiac emergency readiness program comprising the steps of:
conducting a site survey to determine the optimal number and placement of at least one automatic external defibrillator; preparing a cardiac arrest emergency response plan for a premises that detail the procedures to be used during a cardiac arrest emergency; training personnel on the proper use of the at least one automatic external defibrillator; and selecting personnel to serve as a liaison with professional emergency medical specialist who are called to the premises.
- 18. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 16, wherein:
the at least one of the automatic external defibrillator is accessible within three minutes of any location on the premises.
- 19. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 16, wherein:
the cardiac arrest emergency response plan contains information on the procedures to be used during a cardiac emergency, such as who is trained to use the at least one automatic external defibrillator, where the at least one automatic external defibrillator is located, and who should call and act as a liaison with emergency medical specialists.
- 20. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 16, further comprising the step of:
providing a public relations support plan that comprises informing the public of the cardiac emergency readiness program.
- 21. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 16, further comprising the step of:
providing a legal support plan comprising furnishing legal information relating to local laws and regulations, furnishing expert legal opinions and offering an indemnification plan.
- 22. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 16, further comprising the step of:
providing on-demand consultation regarding the cardiac emergency readiness program.
- 23. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 16, further comprising the step of:
providing an automatic external defibrillator usage review in the event of an incident.
- 24. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 16, further including the steps of:
conducting periodic quality assurance inspections to ensure proper operation of the automatic external defibrillator; and offering replacement electrodes and batteries to replace defective or used electrodes and batteries.
- 25. The method of implementing the cardiac emergency readiness program of claim 16, further comprising the step of:
certifying that the premises has implemented the cardiac emergency readiness program.
