Claims
- 1. A method of making a screw comprising the steps of:A) providing a tapered core having an initial diameter adjacent a large head end which tapers to a smaller diameter at a leading end; B) providing a first tool bit at a first distance from the longitudinal axis of said core, said tool bit having a first cutting surface disposed at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis of said core; C) making a first helical tool bit cut from the leading end toward the head end, said first helical tool bit cut producing a helical thread from said leading end to said head end with an inferior surface related to the angle between the first cutting surface of said first tool bit and the angle of taper of said tapered core; D) providing a second tool bit at a second distance from said longitudinal axis of said core, said second tool bit having a second cutting surface disposed at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis of said core that is greater than said first angle; and E) making a second helical die cut from the leading end to said head end, said second helical tool bit cut producing a compound curve on said inferior surface of said helical thread and resulting in a sharp apice on said helical thread.
