- whereby said first sheet is corrugated to form a side wall while substantially simultaneously forming said package.
- 7. The method of forming a corrugated package in accordance with claim 6 including the step of rotating said head through a fourth cycle which extends said second sheet beyond said first sheet and forms a pull tab for applying a force to remove said side wall from said bottom wall member.
- 8. The method of forming a corrugated package in accordance with claim 6 or 7 wherein each of said cycles comprises approximately one hundred and eighty degrees of rotation of said head.
- 9. The method of forming a corrugated package in accordance with claim 6 wherein at least the engaging portions of said sheets and bottom wall member are provided with a heat seal coating and wherein said adhering steps comprise applying heat to the engaged portions of said sheets and said bottom wall member.
- 10. The method of forming a corrugated package from sheet material on a rotatable fluted corrugating head comprising the steps of:
- providing a supply of first sheet material having a selected width;
- securing the leading edge of said first sheet to said head by movable corrugating means;
- cutting said first sheet material to a selected length;
- rotating said head through a first cycle while said first sheet is secured to said head to draw said sheet between said head and corrugating means and thereby corrugate a portion of said first sheet;
- securing a bottom wall member having an outer edge to said head for rotation therewith and so that the outer edge is aligned with said corrugated portion of said first sheet;
- positioning the leading edge of a second sheet of material having a selected width greater than the width of said first sheet in engagement with said first sheet adjacent the leading edge thereof and projecting over the outer edge of said bottom wall member;
- adhering said second sheet to said first sheet;
- cutting said second sheet material to a selected length;
- moving folding means into position to fold said projecting portion of said second sheet into engagement with said bottom wall member as said head rotates;
- rotating said head through a second cycle to draw said second sheet into engagement with the corrugated portion of said first sheet while said folding means folds said projecting portion against said bottom wall member and said head and corrugating means corrugate an additional portion of said first sheet and simultaneously adhering said projecting portion to said bottom wall member and adhering said engaged first and second sheets together;
- rotating said head through a third cycle to draw said second sheet into engagement with said additional corrugated portion of said first sheet while said folding means folds said projecting portion against said bottom wall member and simultaneously adhering said projecting portion to said bottom wall member and adhering said engaged first and second sheets together;
- whereby said first sheet is corrugated to form a side wall substantially simultaneously with the formation of said package.
- 11. The method of forming a corrugated package in accordance with claim 10 including the additional step of rotating said head through a fourth cycle to wrap said second sheet beyond said first sheet as said folding means folds said projecting portion against said bottom wall member and while simultaneously adhering said projecting portion to said bottom wall, to thereby form a grip tab for said side wall.
- 12. The method of forming a corrugated package in accordance with claim 10 or 11 wherein each of said cycles comprises approximately one hundred and eighty degrees of rotation of said head.
- 13. The method of forming a corrugated package in accordance with claim 10 wherein said first sheet is secured to said head during said first and second cycles by a partial vacuum force applied to said first sheet through port means in said head.
- 14. The method of forming a corrugated package in accordance with claim 10 or 13 wherein said bottom wall member is secured to said head for rotation therewith by a partial vacuum force applied to said bottom wall member through port means in said head.
