Claims
- 1. A method of making a surgical glove (10) including the steps of: dipping a mold shell (24) having the configuration of a human hand with a ventral side and a dorsal side (30) into a liquid (34) which is curable to a stretchable, air and water impermeable material (16); disposing a hand shaped layer Z(18) of a flexible armor fiber (18) on the dorsal side (30) of the shell (24) prior to complete curing the liqud (34); dipping the shell (24) into the liquid (34) a second time to embed the armor material (18) within the liquid (34); and curing the liquid (34) to the stretcable, air and water impermeable material (16).
- 2. A method as set forth in claim 1 further including the step of partially curing the material (16) prior to disposing the fiber (18) thereon.
- 3. A method as set forth in claim 2 wherein by said armor material comprises interwoven fibers (18).
- 4. A method as set forth in claim 3 wherein by said thin layer of said impermeable material is disposed throughout the interstices of said fibers (18).
- 5. A method as set forth in claim 4 wherein said fiber is woven into a stretchable cloth.
- 6. A method as set forth in claim 5 wherein by said fiber (18) is a synthetic fiber.
- 7. A method as set forth in claim 6 wherein said fiber (18) is nylon.
- 8. A method as set forth in claim 6 wherein said fiber (18) is an aramid fiber.
- 9. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein by said impermeable material (16) is latex.
- 10. A method as set forth in claim 1 wherein by said dorsal side (14) of said glove (10) includes finger portions (20) and backhand portion (22), said fiber (18) extending over said finger portions (20) and partially over said backhand portion (16).
