Claims
- 1. A method of producing a movable scroll element for a scroll fluid machine including a mold-casting process for forming an integral cast product by use of a pair of casting molds, said integral cast product having a body portion having opposite end faces thereof and end-plate-forming and spiral-member-forming portions which extend between said opposite end faces to form a movable end plate and a spiral member of said movable scroll element, and a cylindrical or columnar projecting portion integrally projecting from one of said opposite end faces of said body portion to form a drive power receiving portion, said method further including a machining process for machining said end-plate-forming portion of said body portion of said integral cast product so as to obtain a disk-like end plate of said movable scroll element, machining said cylindrical or columnar projecting portion for obtaining said drive power receiving portion projecting from one end face of said disk-like end plate and receiving, via a bearing, a drive power causing an orbiting motion of said movable scroll element, and machining said spiral-member-forming portion of said body portion for obtaining said spiral member axially projecting from said opposite end face of said disk-like end plate of said movable scroll element,
- wherein said method comprises:
- casting the integral cast product using one of the pair of casting molds to form both said end-plate-forming portions of said body portion from which said disk-like end plate is formed and said cylindrical or columnar projecting portion, said cylindrical or columnar projecting portion having an outer diameter within a dimensional range;
- first machining an outer circumference of said end-plate-forming portion of said body portion and said spiral-member-forming portion of said body portion by holding an outer circumference of said cylindrical or columnar projecting portion of said cast product; and after the first machining
- additionally machining said one of said opposite ends of said end-plate-forming portion of said body portion and an outer face of said cylindrical or columnar projecting portion, except for said outer circumference of said cylindrical or columnar projecting portion, by holding said outer circumference of said end-plate-forming portion of said spiral-member-forming portion of said body portion.
- 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein said additional machining is carried out by holding said spiral-member-forming portion with a machine chuck after said first machining step.
- 3. The method according to claim 1, wherein said drive power receiving portion of said movable scroll element comprises a boss portion having a cylindrical inner circumference on which a bearing is fitted.
- 4. A method of producing a movable scroll element for a scroll type fluid machine which includes a mold-casting process for forming an integral cast product by use of a pair of casting molds, said integral cast product having a body portion having opposite end faces thereof and end-plate-forming and spiral-member-forming portions extending between said opposite end faces for forming a movable end plate and a spiral member of said movable scroll element, and a cylindrical or columnar projecting portion integrally projecting from one of the opposite end faces of said body portion for forming a drive power receiving portion, the method further including a machining process for machining said end-plate-forming portion of said body portion of said integral cast product to form a disk-like end plate of said movable scroll element, machining said cylindrical or columnar projecting portion to obtain said drive power receiving portion projecting from one end face of said disk-like end plate to receive, via a bearing, a drive power to cause an orbiting motion of said movable scroll element, and machining said spiral-member-forming portion of said body portion to obtain said spiral member axially projecting from the opposite end face of said disk-like end plate, wherein said method comprises:
- casting the integral cast product using one of the pair of casting molds for forming both said end-plate-forming portions of said body portion from which said disk-like end plate is formed and said cylindrical or columnar projecting portion, said cylindrical or columnar projecting portion and said end-plate-forming portion of said body portion having respective outer diameters within respective dimensional allowance ranges; and
- wherein said method further comprises:
- first, machining said spiral-member-forming portion of said body portion by holding an outer circumference of said end-plate-forming portion of said cast product or an outer circumference of said cylindrical or columnar projecting portion of said cast product; and
- second, machining said one of the opposite ends of said end-plate-forming portions of said body portion and outer faces of said cylindrical or columnar projecting portion except for the outer circumference of said cylindrical or columnar projecting portion by holding said outer circumference of said end-plate-forming portion of said spiral-member-forming portion of said body portion.
- 5. The method according to claim 4, wherein said second machining is carried out by holding said spiral-member-forming portion after said first machining.
- 6. The method according to claim 5, wherein said drive power receiving portion of said movable scroll element comprises a boss portion having a cylindrical inner circumference on which a bearing is fitted.
- 7. A method of producing a movable scroll element for a scroll type fluid machine said scroll element having a body portion having a portion for forming an end-plate and a portion for forming a spiral-member extending from one of opposite end faces of said portion for forming said end-plate; and, a portion for forming a boss projecting from the other of said opposite end faces of said portion for forming said end-plate for forming a drive power receiving portion, said method comprising a mold-casting process for forming said body portion and said boss portion by using a pair of a first casting mold for casting said body portion and a second casting mold for casting said boss portion, said first and second casting molds having a parting line lying in a plane thereof arranged to extend through a portion of said body portion of said movable scroll element.
- 8. The method according to claim 7, wherein said portion of said body portion through which said plane in which said parting line of said first and second casting molds lies extends is said spiral-member-forming portion.
