Claims
- 1. A method of manufacturing a sulfated paste for use in a lead acid electrochemical cell comprising:introducing sulfuric acid to an oxide of lead and subsequently introducing a tin-containing material.
- 2. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the tin-containing material is selected from a group consisting of SnSO4, SnO, metallic tin, a tin(II) salt and a tin(IV) salt.
- 3. A method as claimed in claim 2, wherein the sulfated paste is approximately 0.001% to approximately 5.0% SnSO4 by weight.
- 4. A method as claimed in claim 3, wherein the sulfated paste is approximately 0.1% to approximately 1.0% SnSO4 by weight.
- 5. A method as claimed in claim 4, wherein the sulfated paste is approximately 0.3% SnSO4 by weight.
