Claims
- 1. A method for molding golf balls, comprising the steps of:immersing a slug in water prior to molding a core; absorbing water into the surface of the slug; subsequently molding the slug having the water-absorbed surface by heating it to a sufficient molding temperature of at least 295° F. for a predetermined period of time to form a core having a softened skin; and molding a cover over the core having a softened skin.
- 2. A method for molding golf balls according to claim 1, wherein the step of molding the slug comprises heating the slug to at least 295° F. for 10-20 minutes.
- 3. A method for molding golf balls, according to claim 1, wherein the slug is immersed in water which contains a surfactant.
