Claims
- 1. A method of conducting a game of chance comprising the steps of:
providing a player with an opportunity to place at least one of a plurality of possible wagers to activate a primary gaming unit, said primary gaming unit displaying a randomly selected primary display to a player thereby providing a player with an opportunity to obtain at least a primary award, said display comprising a primary indicia set; providing a secondary gaming unit which displays a plurality of possible secondary indicia; activating said secondary gaming unit; displaying a randomly selected secondary indicia with said secondary gaming unit; and providing a winning award which is the product of the amount wagered by the player and the secondary indicia.
- 2. A method of conducting a game of chance according to claim 1 wherein said secondary gaming unit comprises a wheel.
- 3. A method of conducting a game of chance according to claim 1 wherein said secondary gaming unit is only activatable if said player wagered one of a preselected plurality of possible wagers.
- 4. A method of conducting a game of chance according to claim 1 wherein said secondary gaming unit is only activatable if said player wagered the maximum wager.
- 5. A method of conducting a game of chance according to claim 1 wherein the secondary gaming unit is activated in response to input by said player.
- 6. A method of conducting a game of chance according to claim 1 wherein the secondary gaming unit is activated in response to the display of one of a plurality of predetermined primary indicia sets.
- 7. A method of conducting a game of chance according to claim 1 further comprising the step of providing the player with at least one opportunity to wager at least a portion of said winning award after said secondary indicia has been displayed.
- 8. A method of conducting a game of chance according to claim 1 further comprising the step of permitting a player to wager on the outcome of the secondary gaming unit.
- 9. A gaming device comprising:
means for receiving at least one of a plurality of possible wagers; a first gaming unit comprising means for randomly selecting and displaying a first indicia set comprising a plurality of indicia from a plurality of possible indicia sets, wherein the possible first indicia sets comprise at least one winning set; a second display comprising means for randomly selecting and displaying at least one additional indicia, said additional indicia selected from a plurality of possible indicia when said first indicia set is one of a preselected plurality of indicia sets, said additional indicia displaying means comprising indicia of a wheel element and an indicator, and wherein a winning award is the product of said additional indicia and the amount wagered.
- 10. A gaming device according to claim 9 further comprising means for gradually reducing the rate of relative movement of said wheel element and said indicator.
- 11. A gaming device according to claim 9 wherein said indicia of a movable wheel element comprises a mechanical wheel.
- 12. A gaming device according to claim 9 wherein said additional indicia displaying means displays a plurality of possible additional indicia.
- 13. A gaming device according to claim 9 wherein said additional indicia displaying means guarantees a player a payout.
