Claims
- 1. A pellet produced by a process comprising the following steps:(1) producing a mixture by admixing (a) silicon dioxide, (b) calcium oxide and/or magnesium oxide, and water; (2) forming a pellet from such mixture, said pellet comprising from about 3% to about 18% magnesium oxide, from about 6% to about 34% calcium hydroxide, from about 0% to about 27% calcium carbonate, from about 0% to about 22% magnesium carbonate, and from about 48% to about 60% silica sand; and (3) drying the pellet to drive off water to attain structural strength sufficient for handling and/or control degradation in a chemical reaction.
- 2. A pellet produced by a process comprising reacting the pellet by heating produced in claim 1 to produced a synthetic silicate product.
