- 1. A method of recovering filler from a lost wax composition, comprising:separating crude reclaimed filler, in which at least one of a) a waste wax composition containing a filler, and b) a residue formed by separating or extracting a wax component from the waste wax composition, is dissolved and dispersed in an organic solvent, wherein a resulting dispersion is then separated into a dissolved wax phase and a solids/wax-containing fraction, and wherein a wax component and the organic solvent are recovered from the solids/wax-containing fraction; dispersing the crude reclaimed filler in an aqueous alkaline solution including a surface active agent, thereby to dissolve and thus remove alkali-soluble impurities; and recovering further purified filler from said alkaline solution and washing said further purified filler with water.
- 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the specific gravity of the aqueous alkaline solution is adjusted to be greater than that of the wax component and smaller than that of said filler.
- 3. The method according to claim 2, wherein the solids/wax-containing fraction contains water.
- 4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the solids/wax-containing fraction contains water.
