Claims
- 1. A method for the resolution of a racemic mixture of .beta.-2-hydroxymethal-5-(cytosin-1-yl)-1,3-oxathiolane, comprising the step of selectively hydrolzing a 5'-O-acyl derivative of the racemic mixture of the nucleoside with an enzyme selected from the group consisting of pig liver esterase, porcine pancreatic lipase, and subtilisin.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the enzyme is pig liver esterase.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the enzyme is porcine pancreatic lipase.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the enzyme is subtilisin.
- 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the 5'-O-acyl group is the residue of an alkyl carboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, and pentanoic acid.
- 6. A method for the resolution of a racemic mixture of .beta.-2',3'-dideoxy-3'-thia-5fluorocytidine comprising the step of selectively hydrolyzing a 5'-O-acyl derivative of the racemic mixture of the nucleoside with an enzyme selected from the group consisting of pig liver esterase, porcine pancreatic lipase, and subtilisin.
- 7. The method of claim 6, wherein the enzyme is pig liver esterase.
- 8. The method of claim 6, wherein the enzyme is porcine pancreatic lipase.
- 9. The method of claim 6, wherein the enzyme is subtilisin.
- 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the 5'-O-acyl group is the residue of an alkyl carboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, and pentanoic acid.
