Claims
- 1. A method of blocking calcium channels with enhanced efficacy in an animal comprising:administering to an animal in need thereof, an effective amount of an enriched calcium channel blocking compound of the following structure: wherein R is hydrogen or deuterium and one or more R is deuterium.
- 2. A method of blocking calcium channels with enhanced efficacy in an animal comprising:administering to an animal in need thereof, an effective amount of an enriched calcium channel blocking compound of the following structure: wherein R and R1 are hydrogen or deuterium and one or more R1 is deuterium.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein more than one R1 are deuterium.
- 4. A method of blocking calcium channels with enhanced duration of action in an animal comprising:administering to an animal in need thereof, an effective amount of an enriched calcium channel blocking compound of the following structure: wherein R is hydrogen or deuterium and one or more R is deuterium.
- 5. A method of blocking calcium channels with enhanced duration of action in an animal comprising:administering to an animal in need thereof, an effective amount of an enriched calcium channel blocking compound of the following structure: wherein R and R1 are hydrogen or deuterium and one or more R1 is deuterium.
- 6. The method of claim 5 wherein more than one R1 are deuterium.
- 7. A method of blocking calcium channel with enhanced use dependence in an animal comprising:administering to an animal in need thereof, an effective amount of an enriched calcium channel blocking compound of the following structure: wherein R is hydrogen or deuterium and one or more R is deuterium.
- 8. A method of blocking calcium channels with enhanced use dependence in an animal comprising:administering to an animal in need thereof, an effective amount of an enriched calcium channel blocking compound of the following structure: wherein R and R1 are hydrogen or deuterium and one or more R1 is deuterium.
- 9. The method of claim 8 wherein more than one R1 are deuterium.
- 10. A method of treating hypertension with enhanced efficacy in an animal comprising:administering to an animal in need thereof, an effective amount of an enriched calcium channel blocking compound of the following structure: wherein R is hydrogen or deuterium and one or more R is deuterium.
- 11. A method of treating hypertension with enhanced efficacy in an animal comprising:administering to an animal in need thereof, an effective amount of an enriched calcium channel blocking compound of the following structure: wherein R and R1 are hydrogen or deuterium and one or more R1 is deuterium.
- 12. The method of claim 11 wherein more than one R1 are deuterium.
- 13. A method of treating hypertension with an extended duration of action in an animal comprising:administering to an animal in need thereof, an effective amount of an enriched calcium channel blocking compound of the following structure: wherein R is hydrogen or deuterium and one or more R is deuterium.
- 14. A method of treating hypertension with an extended duration of action in an animal comprising:administering to an animal in need thereof, an effective amount of an enriched calcium channel blocking compound of the following structure: wherein R and R1 are hydrogen or deuterium and one or more R1 is deuterium.
- 15. The method of claim 14 wherein more than one R1 are deuterium.

This is a continuation-in-part of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 09/138,125 filed Aug. 24, 1998 which is a continuation of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 08/725,992, filed Oct. 4, 1996, now U.S. Pat. No. 5,846,514 which is a continuation-in-part of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 08/410,530 filed Mar. 27, 1995, and is now abandoned, which in turn is a continuation-in-part of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 08/217,897 filed Mar. 25, 1994, and is now abandoned which are all relied on and incorporated herein by reference in their entirety.
