Claims
- 1. A shoe comprising:
an outsole; the outsole having a reference gauge at a proximal end of the outsole for placing a heel of a foot; and a first reference mark at a distal end of the outsole corresponding to where toes of the foot should extend when the heel is placed on the reference gauge to ensure a proper fit of the shoe on the foot.
- 2. The shoe of claim 1, wherein the reference gauge corresponds to a location of a person's heel inside the shoe.
- 3. The shoe of claim 1, wherein the reference gauge is substantially u-shaped to correspond to the heel of the foot.
- 4. The shoe of claim 1, wherein the reference gauge is substantially an end line.
- 5. The shoe of claim 1, wherein the outsole further comprises a second reference mark distal from the first reference mark corresponding to a clearance distance within the shoe.
- 6. The shoe of claim 1, wherein the outsole further comprises a third reference mark corresponding to a width within the shoe.
- 7. The shoe of claim 1, wherein the outsole further comprises a fourth reference mark intermediate to the reference gauge and the first reference mark corresponding to where a ball of the foot should align when the heel is placed in the reference gauge.
- 8. The shoe of claim 1, wherein the outsole further comprises an outline corresponding with an overall shape within the shoe.
- 9. The shoe of claim 1, wherein the reference gauge is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 10. The shoe of claim 1, wherein the first reference mark is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 11. The shoe of claim 5, wherein the second reference mark is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 12. The shoe of claim 6, wherein the third reference mark is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 13. The shoe of claim 7, wherein the fourth reference mark is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 14. The shoe of claim 8, wherein the outline is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 15. The shoe of claim 1, wherein the reference gauge is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 16. The shoe of claim 1, wherein the first reference mark is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 17. The shoe of claim 5, wherein the second reference mark is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 18. The shoe of claim 6, wherein the third reference mark is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 19. The shoe of claim 7, wherein the fourth reference mark is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 20. The shoe of claim 8, wherein the outline is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 21. A system for determining the fit of a shoe having an outsole comprising:
a reference gauge at a proximal end of the outsole for placing a heel of a foot; and a first reference mark at a distal end of the outsole corresponding to where toes of the foot should extend when the heel is placed on the reference gauge to ensure a proper fit of the shoe on the foot.
- 22. The system of claim 21, wherein the reference gauge corresponds to a location of a person's heel inside the shoe.
- 23. The system of claim 21, wherein the reference gauge is substantially u-shaped to correspond to the heel of the foot.
- 24. The system of claim 21, wherein the reference gauge is substantially an end line.
- 25. The system of claim 21, wherein the outsole further comprises a second reference mark distal from the first reference mark corresponding to a clearance distance within the shoe.
- 26. The system of claim 21, wherein the outsole further comprises a third reference mark distal from the first reference mark corresponding to a width within the shoe.
- 27. The system of claim 21, wherein the outsole further comprises a fourth reference mark intermediate to the reference gauge and the first reference mark corresponding to where a ball of the foot should align when the heel is placed in the reference gauge.
- 28. The system of claim 21, wherein the outsole further comprises an outline corresponding with an overall shape within the shoe.
- 29. The system of claim 21, wherein the reference gauge is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 30. The system of claim 21, wherein the first reference mark is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 31. The system of claim 25, wherein the second reference mark is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 32. The system of claim 26, wherein the third reference mark is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 33. The system of claim 27, wherein the fourth reference mark is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 34. The system of claim 28, wherein the outline is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 35. The system of claim 21, wherein the reference gauge is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 36. The system of claim 21, wherein the first reference mark is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 37. The system of claim 25, wherein the second reference mark is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 38. The system of claim 26, wherein the third reference mark is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 39. The system of claim 27, wherein the fourth reference mark is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 40. The system of claim 28, wherein the outline is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 41. A method for determining the fit of a shoe from outside the shoe comprising the steps of:
providing a shoe having an outsole including a reference gauge at a proximal end of the outsole for placing a heel of a foot, and a first reference mark at a distal end of the outsole corresponding to where toes of the foot should extend when the heel is placed on the reference gauge to ensure a proper fit of the shoe on the foot; placing the heel on the reference gauge located on the proximal end of the outsole of the shoe; placing the foot on the outsole so the heel remains on the reference gauge and the toes extend along the outsole toward the distal end of the outsole; and comparing the extension of the toes to the first reference mark on the distal end of the outsole corresponding to where the toes of the foot should extend when the heel is placed on the reference gauge to ensure a proper fit of the shoe on the foot.
- 42. The method of claim 41, wherein the reference gauge corresponds to a location of a person's heel inside the shoe.
- 43. The method of claim 41, wherein the reference gauge is substantially u-shaped to correspond to the heel of the foot.
- 44. The method of claim 41, wherein the reference gauge is substantially an end line.
- 45. The method of claim 41, wherein the outsole further comprises a second reference mark distal from the first reference mark corresponding to a clearance distance within the shoe.
- 46. The method of claim 41, wherein the outsole further comprises a third reference mark corresponding to a width within the shoe, the method further comprising the step of:
comparing the width of the foot to the third reference mark.
- 47. The method of claim 41, wherein the outsole further comprises a fourth reference mark intermediate to the reference gauge and the first reference mark corresponding to where a ball of the foot should align when the heel is placed in the reference gauge, the method further comprising the step of:
placing the ball of the foot on the fourth reference mark.
- 48. The method of claim 41, wherein the outsole further comprises an outline corresponding with an overall shape within the shoe, the method further comprising the step of:
comparing the overall shape of the foot with the outline.
- 49. The method of claim 41, wherein the reference gauge is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 50. The method of claim 41, wherein the first reference mark is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 51. The method of claim 45, wherein the second reference mark is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 52. The method of claim 46, wherein the third reference mark is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 53. The method of claim 47, wherein the fourth reference mark is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 54. The method of claim 48, wherein the outline is permanently affixed to the outsole.
- 55. The method of claim 41, wherein the reference gauge is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 56. The method of claim 41, wherein the first reference mark is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 57. The method of claim 45, wherein the second reference mark is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 58. The method of claim 46, wherein the third reference mark is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 59. The method of claim 47, wherein the fourth reference mark is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 60. The method of claim 48, wherein the outline is temporarily affixed to the outsole.
- 61. A shoe comprising:
an outsole having: a reference gauge permanently affixed at a proximal end of the outsole for placing a heel of a foot, wherein the reference gauge corresponds to the heel of the foot and a location of the reference gauge on the outsole corresponds to the location of a person's heel inside a shoe; a first reference mark permanently affixed at a distal end of the outsole corresponding to where toes of the foot should extend when the heel is placed on the reference gauge to ensure a proper fit of the shoe on the foot; and a second reference mark permanently affixed distal from the first reference mark corresponding to a clearance distance within the shoe.
- 62. The shoe of claim 61 further comprising:
a third reference mark permanently affixed on the outsole corresponding to a width within the shoe; a fourth reference mark permanently affixed on the outsole intermediate the reference gauge and the first reference mark corresponding to where a ball of the foot should align when the heel is placed in the reference gauge; and an outline permanently affixed on the outsole corresponding with an overall shape within the shoe.
- 63. A system for determining the fit of a shoe having an outsole comprising:
a decal having detachable adhesive on one side for temporarily affixing to an outsole of a shoe; the decal having an adhesive protective substrate, wherein the decal is separated from the substrate for direct temporary affixation to the outsole; a reference gauge printed on said decal at a proximal end of the decal for placing a heel of a foot, wherein the reference gauge corresponds to the heel of the foot and a location of the reference gauge on the decal when the decal is applied to the outsole corresponds to the location of a person's heel inside the shoe; a first reference mark printed on said decal at a distal end of the decal corresponding to where toes of the foot should extend when the heel is placed on the reference gauge to ensure a proper fit of the shoe on the foot; and a second reference mark printed on said decal distal from the first reference mark corresponding to a clearance distance within the shoe.
- 64. The system of claim 63, further comprising an outline printed on the decal corresponding with an overall shape within the shoe.
- 65. The system of claim 64, further comprising:
a third reference mark printed on the decal corresponding to a width within the shoe; and a fourth reference mark printed on the decal intermediate the reference gauge and the first reference mark corresponding to where a ball of the foot should align when the heel is placed in the reference gauge.
- 66. A visual shoe fit guide comprising:
a tag; a reference gauge printed on said tag at a proximal end of the tag for placing a heel of a foot, wherein the reference gauge corresponds to the heel of the foot and a location of the reference gauge on the tag corresponds to the location of a person's heel inside a shoe; a first reference mark printed on said tag at a distal end of the tag corresponding to where toes of the foot should extend when the heel is placed on the reference gauge to ensure a proper fit of the shoe on the foot; and a second reference mark printed on said tag distal from the first reference mark corresponding to a clearance distance within the shoe.
- 67. The visual shoe fit guide of claim 66 further comprising an outline printed on the tag corresponding with an overall shape within the shoe.
- 68. The visual shoe fit guide of claim 67 further comprising a third reference mark printed on the tag corresponding to a width within the shoe.
- 69. The visual shoe fit guide of claim 68 further comprising a fourth reference mark printed on the tag intermediate the reference gauge and the first reference mark corresponding to where a ball of the foot should align when the heel is placed in the reference gauge.
- 70. The visual shoe fit guide of claim 67, wherein the reference gauge, the first reference mark, the second reference mark and the outline are printed on printed on both sides of the tag, wherein one side of the tag represents a left shoe and an opposite side of the tag represents a right shoe.
- 71. The visual shoe fit guide of claim 70, wherein the reference gauge, the first reference mark, the second reference mark and the outline are arranged to correspond to a predetermined size of a shoe.
- 72. The visual shoe fit guide of claim 68, wherein the reference gauge, the first reference mark, the second reference mark, third reference mark and the outline are printed on both sides of the tag, wherein one side of the tag represents a left shoe and an opposite side of the tag represents a right shoe.
- 73. The visual shoe fit guide of claim 69, wherein the wherein the reference gauge, the first reference mark, the second reference mark, third reference mark, the fourth reference mark and the outline are printed on both sides of the tag, wherein one side of the tag represents a left shoe and an opposite side of the tag represents a right shoe.
- 74. The visual shoe fit guide of claim 72, wherein the reference gauge, the first reference mark, the second reference mark, the third reference mark and the outline are arranged to correspond to a predetermined size of a shoe.
- 75. The visual shoe fit guide of claim 73, wherein the wherein the reference gauge, the first reference mark, the second reference mark, third reference mark, the fourth reference mark and the outline are arranged to correspond to a predetermined size of a shoe.
- 76. The visual shoe fit guide of claim 66, wherein the tag is stored with the shoe to be sold.
- 77. The visual foot size guide of claim 73, wherein the tag has means for attaching said tag to the shoe.
