Claims
- 1. A method of calculating a multifactor temperature index comprising:
(a) determining values for at least two weather related parameters; and (b) calculating the multifactor temperature index using the determined values of the two weather related parameters and an actual temperature value.
- 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the weather related parameters are selected from a group consisting of a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter and a precipitation parameter.
- 3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the step of calculating the weather related parameters includes calculating three weather related parameters.
- 4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the step of calculating the weather related parameters includes calculating four weather related parameters.
- 5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the step of calculating the weather related parameters includes calculating five weather related parameters.
- 6. The method according to claim 3, wherein the three weather related parameters are selected from a group consisting of a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter and a precipitation parameter.
- 7. The method according to claim 4, wherein the four weather related parameters are selected from a group consisting of a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter and a precipitation parameter.
- 8. The method according to claim 5, wherein the five weather related parameters include a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter and a precipitation parameter.
- 9. The method according to claim 1, wherein step (a) includes measuring the weather related parameters.
- 10. The method according to claim 1, wherein step (a) includes forecasting the weather related parameters.
- 11. The method according to claim 9, wherein step (a) further includes deriving the values of the weather related parameters from the measured weather related parameters.
- 12. The method according to claim 10, wherein step (a) further includes deriving the values of the weather related parameters from the forecasted weather related parameters.
- 13. The method according to claim 1, wherein step (a) includes observing the weather related parameters.
- 14. The method according to claim 13, wherein step (a) further includes deriving the values of the weather related parameters from the observed weather related parameters.
- 15. A computer implemented method of calculating a multifactor temperature index comprising:
determining values for at least two weather related parameters; determining at least two ranges of a sunshine related parameter; and calculating a respective multifactor temperature index value for each of the ranges of the sunshine related parameter using the weather related parameters.
- 16. The computer implemented method of calculating a multifactor temperature index according to claim 15, wherein calculating the multifactor temperature index for one of the ranges of the sunshine related parameter using a UV index related parameter.
- 17. The computer implemented method according to claim 15, further comprising determining at least two temperature related ranges before determining the ranges of the sunshine related parameter for each of the temperature related ranges,
wherein calculation of the multifactor temperature indexes is done differently for each of the ranges of the sunshine related parameter of the two temperature related ranges.
- 18. A computer readable data storage medium having program code recorded thereon for calculating a multifactor temperature index, the program code comprising:
a first program code that determines values for at least two weather related parameters; and a second program code that calculates a multifactor temperature index using the determined values of the weather related parameters and an actual temperature value.
- 19. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 18, wherein the weather related parameters are selected from a group consisting of a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter and a precipitation parameter.
- 20. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 18, wherein the first program code calculates three weather related parameters.
- 21. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 18, wherein the first program code calculates four weather related parameters.
- 22. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 18, wherein the first program code calculates five weather related parameters.
- 23. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 20, wherein the three weather related parameters are selected from a group consisting of a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter and a precipitation parameter.
- 24. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 21, wherein the four weather related parameters are selected from a group consisting of a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter and a precipitation parameter.
- 25. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 22, wherein the five weather related parameters include a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter and a precipitation parameter.
- 26. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 18, wherein the first program code receives measured values of the weather related parameters.
- 27. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 18, wherein the first program code includes program code for forecasting the weather related parameters.
- 28. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 26, wherein the first program code includes program code that derives the values of the weather related parameters from the measured weather related parameters.
- 29. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 27, wherein the first program code includes program code that derives the values of the weather related parameters from the forecasted weather related parameters.
- 30. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 18, wherein the first program code includes program code for receiving observed weather related parameters.
- 31. The computer readable data storage medium according to claim 30, wherein the first program code further includes program code that derives the values of the weather related parameters from the observed weather related parameters.
- 32. A computer readable data storage medium having program code recorded thereon for calculating a multifactor temperature index, the program code comprising:
a first program code that determines values for at least two weather related parameters; a second program code that determines at least two ranges of a sunshine related parameter; and a third program code that calculates a respective multifactor temperature index value for each of the ranges of the sunshine related parameter using the weather related parameters.
- 33. A system for calculating a multifactor temperature index, comprising:
means for determining values for at least two weather related parameters; and means for calculating the multifactor temperature index using the determined values of the weather related parameters and an actual temperature value.
- 34. A system for calculating a multifactor temperature index, comprising:
means for determining the values for at least two weather related parameters; means for determining at least two ranges of a sunshine related parameter; and means for calculating a respective multifactor temperature index value for each of the ranges of the sunshine related parameter using the weather related parameters.
- 35. A computer data signal embodied on a carrier wave in an electronic network, the computer data signal comprising:
a value representative of a multifactor temperature index, wherein the multifactor temperature index is calculated by determining values for at least two weather related parameters, and calculating the multifactor temperature index by using the weather related parameters and an actual temperature value.
- 36. The computer data signal according to claim 35, wherein the weather related parameters are selected from a group consisting of a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter and a precipitation parameter.
- 37. The computer data signal according to claim 35, wherein determining the values for the weather related parameters comprises calculating three weather related parameters.
- 38. The computer data signal according to claim 35, wherein determining the values for the weather related parameters comprises calculating four weather related parameters.
- 39. The computer data signal according to claim 35, wherein determining the values for the weather related parameters comprises calculating five weather related parameters.
- 40. The computer data signal according to claim 37, wherein the three weather related parameters are selected from a group consisting of a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter, and a precipitation parameter.
- 41. The computer data signal according to claim 38, wherein the four weather related parameters are selected from a group consisting of a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter, and a precipitation parameter.
- 42. The computer data signal according to claim 39, wherein the five weather related parameters include a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter, and a precipitation parameter.
- 43. The computer data signal according to claim 35, wherein determining the values for the weather related parameters comprises measuring the weather related parameters.
- 44. The computer data signal according to claim 35, wherein determining the values for the weather related parameters comprises forecasting the weather related parameters.
- 45. Computer data embodied in a data signal in a system for displaying a multifactor temperature index, wherein the computer data signal is received in a processor readable memory, the computer data embodied in the data signal comprising:
a value representative of the multifactor temperature index wherein the multifactor temperature index is calculated by determining values for at least two weather related parameters, and calculating the multifactor temperature index by using the weather related parameters and an actual temperature value.
- 46. The computer data embodied in the data signal according to claim 45, wherein the weather related parameters are selected from a group consisting of a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter and a precipitation parameter.
- 47. The computer data embodied in the data signal according to claim 45, wherein determining the values for the weather related parameters comprises calculating three weather related parameters.
- 48. The computer data embodied in the data signal according to claim 45, wherein determining the values for the weather related parameters comprises calculating four weather related parameters.
- 49. The computer data embodied in the data signal according to claim 45, wherein determining the values for the weather related parameters comprises calculating five weather related parameters.
- 50. The computer data embodied in the data signal according to claim 47, wherein the three weather related parameters are selected from a group consisting of a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter, and a precipitation parameter.
- 51. The computer data embodied in the data signal according to claim 48, wherein the four weather related parameters are selected from a group consisting of a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter, and a precipitation parameter.
- 52. The computer data embodied in the data signal according to claim 49, wherein the five weather related parameters include a wind speed parameter, a solar intensity parameter, a dew point parameter, an atmospheric pressure parameter, and a precipitation parameter.
- 53. The computer data embodied in the data signal according to claim 49, wherein determining the values for the weather related parameters comprises measuring the weather related parameters.
- 54. The computer data embodied in the data signal according to claim 45, wherein determining the values for the weather related parameters comprises forecasting the weather related parameters.
- 55. A method of processing a multifactor temperature index comprising the steps of:
receiving a multifactor temperature index, wherein the multifactor temperature index is calculated by: determining values for at least two weather related parameters; and calculating the multifactor temperature index using determined values of the weather related parameters and an actual temperature value; and processing the received multifactor temperature index.
- 56. The method according to claim 55, wherein the step of receiving the multifactor temperature index comprises receiving a computer data signal embodied on a carrier wave wherein the computer data signal comprises a value representative of the multifactor temperature index.
- 57. The method according to claim 55, wherein the step of processing the multifactor temperature index comprises at least one of displaying, storing, and transmitting the multifactor temperature index.
- 58. The method according to claim 56, wherein the step of processing the multifactor temperature index comprises at least one of displaying, storing, and transmitting the computer data signal.
- 59. A method of transmitting a multifactor temperature index comprising the steps of:
transmitting a multifactor temperature index wherein the multifactor temperature index is calculated by: determining values for at least two weather related parameters; and calculating the multifactor temperature index using determined values of the weather related parameters and an actual temperature value.
- 60. The method according to claim 59, wherein the step of transmitting the multifactor temperature index comprises transmitting a computer data signal embodied on a carrier wave wherein the computer data signal comprises a value representative of the multifactor temperature index.
