Claims
- 1. A device, including:
- an adjustable oscillator;
- a digital mixer coupled to the oscillator;
- an interpolation circuit coupled to the digital mixer, the interpolation circuit including a plurality of first through L.sup.th interpolation stages, each of the L stages including an adjustable filter circuit;
- an interpolation circuit control device coupled to the interpolation circuit for controlling at least one of the adjustable filter circuits in response to an H bit word representing a desired interpolation circuit carrier signal output frequency.
- 2. The device of claim 1, further comprising:
- an oscillator control device for generating an oscillator frequency control signal in response to at least a portion of the bits comprising the H bit word.
- 3. The device of claim 2,
- wherein interpolation circuit control device includes:
- a plurality of L filter control circuits, each one of the L filter control circuits generating a filter control signal for controlling one of the L adjustable filter circuits.
- 4. The device of claim 3, wherein each one of the L filter control circuits includes:
- a summer for receiving a set of three bits of the H bit word and adding one thereto to generate a three bit result; and
- means for selecting the two most significant bits of the three bit result as a filter control signal.
- 5. The device of claim 1,
- wherein the interpolation circuit control device includes:
- a filter control circuit for generating a filter control signal for controlling one of the L adjustable filter circuits.
- 6. The device of claim 5, wherein the filter control circuit includes:
- a summer for receiving a set of three bits of the H bit word and adding one thereto to generate a three bit result; and
- means for selecting the two most significant bits of the three bit result as a filter control signal.
