Abstract
A board game requiring players to move traveler pawns along a game board to accumulate points. The game board comprises a path for a travel guide pawn and a plurality of paths for traveler pawns. The travel guide pawn and traveler pawns move along colored and numbered spaces that make up the paths in accordance with the roll of a plurality of dice. Points are accumulated by landing a traveler pawn on a numbered space in the same column as the location of the travel guide pawn. The game is won by accumulating a predetermined number of points.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to games, toys, and sports equipment. More specifically, the present invention includes methods and apparatuses to facilitate provisioning of a new board game.


BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Millions of people in the United States who are largely isolated because of COVID-19 are finding board games to be a constant lifeline in these times since the start of the pandemic. According to a recent study by BoardGameGeek, more than 5,000 new board games or expansions are released every year. Sales have increased in recent years, and board game stores and cafes have popped up in cities around the country, offering options like delivery and curbside during the pandemic. Beyond the stalwart Monopoly™ and Scrabble™ board game options, modern players are turning to more contemporary classics like Catan™, Ticket to Ride™, etc. owing to the emerging new board games being heavily themed and complex, and can take hours to play. Board games helped people with their mental health and have given them opportunities to overcome anxiety issues in such tough times. As a pastime, board gaming has rarely been considered anything other than a minor hobby or a time-wasting exercise, but when millions of people engage in a particular activity, it can produce profound empathy between participants. Further, board games are challenging, but not insurmountable. When challenged at a skill level, many people show emotional growth within themselves. Such board games offer challenges that players can succeed, empowering them in new ways. Also, board games are inherently social as there are many solo board games (and board gamers) wherein the vast majority of board games require socialization to work.


People playing board games often wish to play familiar games in order to avoid having to learn new and difficult rules, but playing existing board games becomes boring at times, however, with playing the same game over and over again. One solution to the problem mentioned thereof may include developing a game board and corresponding game objects that may facilitate a new board game altogether. Accordingly, people may desire a new and improved board game that offers new features that may not be found in the existing board games that may provide a mix of skill, chance, and theme that increase enjoyment amongst the people in leisure time.


Therefore, there is a need for improved methods and apparatuses to facilitate provisioning of a new board game that may overcome one or more of the above-mentioned problems and/or limitations.


SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This summary is provided to introduce a selection of concepts in a simplified form, that are further described below in the Detailed Description. This summary is not intended to identify key features or essential features of the claimed subject matter. Nor is this summary intended to be used to limit the claimed subject matter's scope.


According to some embodiments, a first exemplary gameplay associated with the new board game, is disclosed. Further, the gameplay may start by placing the at least one travel guide pawn at a circle labeled “start” on the game board. Further, each set of the equivalent number of traveler pawns may be chosen by the each player based on the varying degrees of colors. Further, choosing a player that starts the gameplay may be decided based on rolling of each of the at least four dices by the each player. Further, the each player may choose three traveler pawns from corresponding set of traveler pawns that may be placed, in an instance, in a clockwise direction on the game board. Further, the placing may be done on a plurality of numbered circles on the game board. Further, a player that starts the gameplay may roll the at least four dices to start the gameplay. Further, the at least one travel guide pawn may move on colored circles on the game board. Further, the at least one travel guide may move a number of spaces associated with the colored circles based on a number indicated on a first pair of dices of the at least four dices. Further, a second pair of dices of the at least four dices rolled by the player may decide a number of spaces associated with the plurality of numbered circles that the player may move at least one traveler pawn of the three traveler pawns on the game board. Further, the plurality of game points may be assigned to the player based on a score corresponding to a numbered space at which the at least one traveler pawn may be placed on the game board subsequent to the moving. Further, the assigning of the plurality of game points may be based on landing of the at least one traveler pawn on at least one numbered circle of the plurality of numbered circles in a column coinciding with the at least one travel guide pawn in a colored circle such that the player may obtain maximal game points in a corresponding turn. Further, the moving may be in a direction indicated by an arrow near the “start” label on the game board. Further, the each player may buy at least one traveler pawn from the corresponding set of traveler pawns using corresponding plurality of game points assigned to the player. Further, the bought at least one traveler pawn may be placed at any space on the game board based on a choice of the player. Further, the gameplay may end subsequent to the player having obtained a required plurality of game points to be adjudged as a winner of the gameplay that may have been decided at the start of the gameplay. Further, if there occurs a tie between at least two players of the one or more players, then an additional rolling of the at least four dices may be performed. Further, the moving of the at least one traveler pawn associated with the at least two players subsequent to the additional rolling may be assigned one or more game points. Further, a first player of the at least two players achieving game points greater than a second player of the at least two players may be adjudged as the winner of the new board game.


According to some embodiments, a second exemplary gameplay associated with the new board game, is disclosed. Further, the plurality of game objects, in an instance, may include one or more passport folders and one or more destination game pieces in addition to the previously mentioned plurality of game objects in the first exemplary gameplay. Further, the gameplay may include earning of a plurality of game points and a number of destinations by the each player. Further, the second exemplary gameplay may be similar to the first exemplary game except for a fact that the player may be collecting destinations along with the plurality of game points. Further, the player of the one or more players achieving the required game points and all of the seven destinations based on a corresponding passport folder first may be adjudged as a winner of the new board game. Further, the player that starts the game may place a number of destination game pieces of the one or more destination game pieces on the game board at spaces corresponding to the colored circles. Further, the collecting of the destinations may be based on landing of the at least one travel guide pawn on a destination game piece, wherein the collecting may be subsequent to the at least one traveler pawn being in the same column as that of the at least one travel guide pawn based on the moving. Further, the player may place collected destination game pieces by the player during the gameplay on a corresponding passport folder associated with the player. Further, the each player may buy at least one destination using the plurality of game points similar to the buying of the at least one traveler pawn.

The present disclosure includes many aspects and features. Moreover, while many aspects and features relate to, and are described in the context of methods and apparatuses to facilitate provisioning of a new board game, embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to use only in this context.


The present disclosure includes methods and apparatuses to facilitate provisioning of a new board game. Further, the disclosed methods and apparatuses aim to involve one or more players to play the new board game. Further, the new board game may be referred to as “Travelers”. Further, in some embodiments, the new board game may include a plurality of game objects. Further, the plurality of game objects, in an instance, may include a game board 101 and a plurality of game pieces. Further, the game board 101 and each of the plurality of game pieces may facilitate playing of the new board game. Further, the plurality of game pieces may include, but not limited to, at least one travel guide pawn 102, at least four dices 104, and a plurality of traveler pawns 103. Further, the plurality of game objects, in an instance, may include at least one traveler score sheet booklet 111 and a number of strategy cards 112. Further, in some embodiments, each pair of dices of the at least four dices 104 may include varying degrees of least two colors. Further, each side of each of the at least four dices 104 may include one or more dots that may correspond to an outcome in a form of a number such that the one or more dots may correspond to the number. Further, a first pair of dices of the each pair of dices of a first color of the at least two colors may control movement of the at least one travel guide pawn 102 based on an outcome of a roll corresponding to the first pair of dices. Further, a second pair of dices of the each pair of a second color of the at least two colors may control the movement of the plurality of traveler pawns 103 based on an outcome of a roll corresponding to the second pair of dices. Further, the plurality of traveler pawns 103 may be distributed among the one or more players. Further, the distributing, in an instance, may be such that the each of the one or more players may receive an equivalent number of traveler pawns 103. For example, if there are four players, then the plurality of traveler pawns 103 may be divided into four sets of traveler pawns 103 (i.e., each of the four sets includes ten traveler pawns) such that each of the four players may receive a set of the four sets of traveler pawns. Further, in some embodiments, each of the four sets of traveler pawns 103 may include varying degrees of colors. Further, the varying degrees of colors may distinguish the each player of the one or more players on the game board.


Further, the disclosed methods and apparatuses describe a first exemplary gameplay associated with the board game. Further, the gameplay may start by placing the at least one travel guide pawn 102 at a circle labeled “start” on the game board. Further, each set of the equivalent number of traveler pawns 103 may be chosen by the each player based on the varying degrees of colors. Further, the varying degrees of colors may include, but not limited to, green, orange, blue, white, black, etc. Further, choosing a player that starts the gameplay may be decided based on rolling of each of the at least four dices 104 by the each player. Further, an outcome corresponding to highest number on a dice of the at least four dices based on the rolling may decide the player that starts the gameplay. Further, the each player may choose three traveler pawns 103 from corresponding set of traveler pawns that may be placed, in an instance, in a clockwise direction on the game board. Further, the placing may be done on a plurality of numbered circles 106 on the game board 101. Further, the player that starts the gameplay may roll the at least four dices 104 to start the gameplay. Further, the at least one travel guide pawn 102 may move on colored circles 107 on the game board 101. Further, the at least one travel guide pawn 102 may move a number of spaces associated with the colored circles 107, wherein the number of spaces moved may be based on a number indicated on the first pair of dices subsequent to the rolling. Further, in some embodiments, the first pair of dices may include a white color. Further, in some embodiments, the second pair of dices may include a blue color. Further, the second pair of dices rolled by the player may decide a number of spaces that the player may move at least one traveler pawn of the three traveler pawns 103 on the game board. Further, the plurality of game points may be assigned to the player based on a score corresponding to a numbered space at which the at least one traveler pawn may be placed on the game board subsequent to the moving. Further, the assigning of the plurality of game points may be based on landing of the at least one traveler pawn 103 on at least one numbered circle of the plurality of numbered circles 106 in a column coinciding with the at least one travel guide pawn in a colored circle 106. Further, the plurality of game points assigned may be based on the at least one number mentioned on at least one numbered circle of the plurality of numbered circles 106. For example, if a number mentioned on a numbered circle 106 is 25, then 25 game points may be assigned to a corresponding player associated with the at least one traveler pawn 103 subsequent to the moving. Additionally, and/or alternatively, if each of the three traveler pawns 103 may be moved such that the player may obtain maximal game points in a corresponding turn based on the rolling. For example, if numbers mentioned on numbered circles 106 subsequent to the movement and/or landing of the three traveler pawns 103 are 25, 50, and 75 respectively such that the player is obtaining the maximal game points out of all the possibilities that the player may move the three traveler pawns 103 on the game board 101 for obtaining the plurality of game points, then the player may be assigned a total of 150 points in the corresponding turn. Further, the moving may be in a direction indicated by an arrow near the “start” label 116 on the game board 101. Further, the plurality of game pieces may move around the game board in a counter-clockwise direction. Further, in an instance, if the number indicated on the first pair of dices is seven, then the at least one travel guide pawn may go back to the “start” label 116 from any of the colored circles on which the at least one traveler pawn 103 may have been placed at such instance. Further, in such a case, the at least one traveler pawn 103 may still be moved on the game board 101. Further, if the at least one travel guide pawn 102 is already at the “start” label 116, then the at least one travel guide pawn 102 may remain at the “start” label 116 and no game point may be assigned to the player. Further, the plurality of game points may be collected based on the positioning of the at least one traveler pawn 103 in a same column as that of the at least one travel guide pawn 102. Further, in some embodiments, the each player may buy at least one traveler pawn 103 from the corresponding set of traveler pawns using corresponding plurality of game points assigned to the player. Further, the bought at least one traveler pawn 103 may be placed at any space on the game board based on a choice of the player. Further, the buying, in an instance, may be based on a strategy of the player such that the player may obtain the maximal game points. Further, the gameplay may end subsequent to the player having obtained a required plurality of game points to be adjudged as a winner of the gameplay that may have been decided at the start of the gameplay. Further, in some embodiments, if there occurs a tie between at least two players of the one or more players, then an additional rolling of the at least four dices 104 may be performed. Further, the moving of the at least one traveler pawn 103 associated with the at least two players subsequent to the additional rolling may be assigned one or more game points. Further, a first player of the at least two players achieving game points greater than a second player of the at least two players may be adjudged as the winner of the new board game.


Further, the disclosed methods apparatuses describe a second exemplary gameplay using the plurality of game objects. Further, the plurality of game objects, in an instance, may include one or more passport folders 109 and one or more destination game pieces 110 in addition to the previously mentioned plurality of game objects in the first exemplary gameplay. Further, the gameplay may include earning of a plurality of game points and a number of destinations 120 by the each player. Further, the earning of the plurality of game points, in an instance, may be based on positioning of the at least one traveler pawn 103 with the at least one travel guide pawn 102 based on the moving subsequent to rolling of the at least four dices. Further, the second exemplary gameplay may be similar to the first exemplary game except for a fact that the player may be collecting destination game pieces 110 along with the plurality of game points. Further, the player of the one or more players achieving the required game points and all of the seven destination game pieces 110 based on a corresponding passport folder 109 first may be adjudged as a winner of the new board game. Further, the player that starts the game may place a number of destination game pieces 110 of the one or more destination game pieces 110 on the game board 101 at spaces corresponding to the colored circles 107. Further, the number of destination game pieces 110 of the one or more destination game pieces 110 may be placed based on a choice of the player that starts the game such that each destination game piece 110 may be placed at least one space apart on the colored circles 107. Further, the collecting of the destinations 120 may be based on landing of the at least one travel guide pawn 102 on a destination game piece 110, wherein the collecting may be subsequent to the at least one traveler pawn 103 being in the same column as that of the at least one travel guide pawn 102 based on the moving. Further, the player may place collected destination game pieces 110 by the player during the gameplay on a corresponding passport folder 109 associated with the player. Further, in some embodiments, the corresponding passport folder 109 may include a color similar to the at least traveler pawn 103 associated with the player. Further, in some embodiments, the each player may buy at least one destination 120 using the plurality of game points similar to the buying of the at least one traveler pawn 103.


Further, in some embodiments, the first exemplary gameplay may include a number of strategy cards 112 that may be divided into a number of decks based on the one or more players such that each of the number of decks may be placed on each designated spot 114 for the number of decks on the game board. Further, in some embodiments, the number of strategy cards 112 may be assigned to the each of the one or more players subsequent to dividing the number of strategy cards 112 into the number of decks based on the one or more players. For example, if there are four players, then the number of strategy cards 112 may be divided into four decks such that each of the four players may receive a deck of the four decks. Further, the number of decks may be placed on the each designated spot 114 such that corresponding strategy cards may only be revealed to the player subsequent to the collecting. Further, the placing may show back face of each of the corresponding strategy cards that may hide the front face that may include at least one strategy 113 that may be applied by the player at an instance of the gameplay. Further, in some embodiments, the number of strategy cards 112 may be shuffled prior to the dividing. Further, in an instance, if the at least one traveler pawn lands on a space labeled “SC” 115, wherein the space labeled “SC” 115 may be among the colored circles 107 on the game board 101, then a strategy card 112 of at least one deck placed on the game board 101 may be collected by the player. Further, each of the collected strategy cards 112 may be played prior to the rolling based on a strategy of the player involved in the gameplay. Further, the played strategy card 112 may be discarded off for remainder of the gameplay by the player.


Further, in some embodiments, the second exemplary gameplay may include one or more destination strategy cards 112 in addition to the number of strategy cards 112. Further, choosing a player that starts the gameplay may be decided based on rolling of each of the at least four dices 104 by the each player. Further, an outcome corresponding to highest number on a dice of the at least four dices 104 based on the rolling may decide the player that starts the gameplay. Further, the collection of at least one destination 120 may be similar to collecting the strategy card 112.


Referring now to figures, FIG. 1 is an illustration of a game board to facilitate provisioning of a new board game, in accordance with some embodiments. Further, a plurality of game objects may facilitate a first exemplary gameplay and a second exemplary gameplay associated with the new board game. Further, the plurality of game objects may include the game board 101 and a plurality of game pieces. Further, the plurality of game pieces may include, but not limited to, at least one travel guide pawn 102, at least four dices 104, and a plurality of traveler pawns 103. Further, in some embodiments, the plurality of game objects may include at least one traveler score sheet booklet 111 and a number of strategy cards 112. Further, in some embodiments, the game board 101 may be square-shaped. Further, a play space associated with the game board may include a variety of patterns such as, a travel guide section 119, a plurality of colored circles 107, a plurality of numbered circles 106, at least eight blocks, and at least three designated spots 114 for strategy cards. Further, the variety of patterns may be concentrically located on the play space such that each of the variety of patterns may be arranged concentrically in accordance with the shape of the game board. Further, each of the variety of patterns may be arranged in a radially outward direction in a particular sequence.


Further, in some embodiments, the concentrical arrangement may start with the travel guide section arranged in a radially innermost portion of the play space. Further, the travel guide section 119 may be formed based on at least two concentrical shapes that may be segmented at several instances. Further, each of segmented portion of the travel guide section 119 may include at least one number that may be included in a space corresponding to the each of the segmented portion. Further, in some embodiments, each of the at least one number may be arranged in a series of increasing numbers in a step of one. For example, if the series starts at 2, then the series may consecutively include 3, 4, 5, and so on. Further, the series, in an instance, may be started from at least one block 117 that includes the label “start” 116.


Further, the travel guide section may be followed by the plurality of colored circles 107 in the concentrical arrangement. Further, the plurality of colored circles 107 may be distributed radially around the travel guide section at a specific distance from the travel guide section 119. Further, the at one least travel guide pawn 102 may move on the plurality of colored circles 107. Further, in some embodiments, the at least one travel guide pawn 102 may be placed in the at least one block 117 in the play space prior to starting the gameplay. Further, the at least one block 117, in an instance, may include “start” 116 and number “7” written inside a portion corresponding to the at least one block 117. Further, the portion may include an arrow pointing towards a direction of the moving of the at least one travel guide pawn 102 and at least one traveler pawn 103 subsequent to starting of the gameplay. Further, the moving, in an instance, may be based on an outcome corresponding to rolling of the at least four dices 104. Further, in some embodiments, an outcome of a first pair of dices of the at least four dices 104 may decide a number of spaces that the at least one travel guide pawn 102 may move on the plurality of colored circles 107. Further, the first pair of dices, in an instance, may include varying degrees of colors such as, but not limited, to, white, blue, etc. Further, in some embodiments, a number of colored circles 107 of the plurality of colored circles 107 may include initials “SC” 115 written inside a space associated with an inner portion of the number of colored circles 107. Further, at an instance of the moving, if the at least one travel guide pawn 102 lands on a colored circle 107 corresponding to the number of colored circles 107, a strategy card 112 may be collected from a number of strategy cards 112.


Further, the at least three designated spots 114 for strategy cards may be located on at least three corners of four corners of the play space on the game board 101. Further, a corner of the four corners, in an instance, may include the at least one block 117. Further, in some embodiments, the number of strategy cards 112 may be divided into a number of decks based on the one or more players such that each of the number of decks may be placed on each of the at least three designated spots.


Further, the plurality of colored circles 107 may be followed by the plurality of numbered circles 106 in the concentrical arrangement such that the plurality of colored circles 107 may be radially distributed at a specific distance from each of the plurality of colored circles 107. Further, in some embodiments, the plurality of numbered circles 106 may be arranged concentrically in at least three rows arranged in radially outward direction in the play space. Further, the plurality of numbered circles 106 may be arranged in a number of columns inclusive of the at least three traveler paths 118. Further, in some embodiments, each of the at least three designated slots and the at least one block at the four corners of the play space may segment the concentrical arrangement of the plurality of numbered circles 106 from each corner of the play space. This splits the board into four sections and splits the at least three traveler paths 118 into four sections. Further, each of the plurality of numbered circles 106 may include at least two concentrical circles. Further, an inner circle of the at least two concentrical circles may include at least one number. Further, a space enclosed by the at least two concentrical circles may include the at least one number. Further, in some embodiments, the at least one number may be repeated and distributed throughout the space enclosed by the at least two concentrical circles. Further, a player involved in the gameplay may be assigned a plurality of game points based on the moving of a corresponding at least one traveler pawn 103 on the plurality of numbered circles subsequent to rolling of the at least four dices 104. Further, in some embodiments, each of the at least three traveler paths 118 arranged in the number of columns may include the at least one number in each of the plurality of numbered circle 106 in a specific sequence. In one embodiment, the numbered circles 106 are arranged so that the number values associated with the numbered circles get lower, then higher along the at least three traveler paths 118. Further, the corresponding at least one traveler pawn 103 may move a number of spaces based on an outcome of a second pair of dices of the at least four dices 104. Further, in some embodiments, the at least one traveler pawn 103 may move in a column of the number of columns based on the at least three traveler paths 118. Further, switching between the number of columns may not be allowed at the instance of moving. Further, in an instance, if at least one column of the number of columns is occupied by other traveler pawns 103 associated with one or more players, then the column may be counted in the moved number of spaces. Further, the second pair of dices may include varying degrees of colors such as, but not limited to, blue, white, etc. Further, the assigning of the plurality of game points may be based on landing of at least one traveler pawn 103 on at least one numbered circle 106 of the plurality of numbered circles 106 in a column coinciding with the at least one travel guide pawn 102 in a colored circle 107. Further, the plurality of game points assigned may be based on the at least one number mentioned on the at least one numbered circle 106. For example, if number mentioned on a numbered circle 106 is 25, then 25 game points may be assigned to a corresponding player associated with the at least one traveler pawn 103 subsequent to the moving. Further, in a case, if the outcome corresponding to the rolling of the first pair of dices and/or the second pair of dices results in a same number corresponding to a segmented portion of the travel guide section 119, then, the plurality of game points collected by the player may be doubled.


Further, the at least eight blocks may be followed by the plurality of numbered circles in the concentrical arrangement radially arranged at a specific distance from each of the plurality of numbered circles. Further, in some embodiments, at least two blocks of the at least eight blocks may be distributed along radially outermost portion of the play space such that the at least two blocks may be a specific distance apart from each other. Further, in some embodiments, one or more players involved in the gameplay may assemble corresponding traveler pawns 103 in a block of the at least two blocks proximal to a player.


Further, the first exemplary gameplay may start by placing the at least one travel guide pawn 102 at a circle labeled “start” on the game board. Further, each set of the equivalent number of traveler pawns 103 may be chosen by each player of one or more players involved in the gameplay based on varying degrees of colors. Further, the varying degrees of colors may include, but not limited to, green, orange, blue, white, black, etc. Further, choosing a player that may start the gameplay may be decided based on rolling of each of the at least four dices 104 by the each player. Further, an outcome corresponding to highest number on a dice of the at least four dices 104 based on the rolling may decide the player that starts the gameplay. Further, the each player may choose three traveler pawns 103 from corresponding set of traveler pawns 103 that may be placed, in an instance, in a clockwise direction on the game board. Further, the placing may be done on a plurality of numbered circles on the game board. Further, the player that starts the gameplay may roll the at least four dices 104 to start the gameplay. Further, the at least one travel guide pawn 102 may move on colored circles 107 on the game board 101. Further, the at least one travel guide pawn 102 may move a number of spaces associated with the colored circles 107. Further, the number of spaces moved may be based on a number indicated on the first pair of dices of the at least four dices 104 subsequent to the rolling. Further, in some embodiments, the first pair of dices may include a white color. Further, in some embodiments, the second pair of dices of the at least four dices may include a blue color. Further, the second pair of dices rolled by the player may decide a number of spaces that the player may move at least one traveler pawn 103 of the three traveler pawns 103 on the game board 101. Further, the plurality of game points may be assigned to the player based on a score corresponding to a numbered space at which the at least one traveler pawn 103 may be placed on the game board 101 subsequent to the moving. Further, the assigning of the plurality of game points may be based on landing of the at least one traveler pawn on at least one numbered circle 106 of the plurality of numbered circles 106 in a column coinciding with the at least one travel guide pawn 102 in a colored circle. Further, the plurality of game points assigned may be based on at least one number mentioned on the at least one numbered circle 106 of the plurality of numbered circles 106. For example, if a number mentioned on a numbered circle 106 is 25, then 25 game points may be assigned to a corresponding player associated with the at least one traveler pawn 103 subsequent to the moving. Additionally, and/or alternatively, if each of the three traveler pawns 103 may be moved such that the player may obtain maximal game points in a corresponding turn based on the rolling. For example, if numbers mentioned on numbered circles 106 subsequent to the movement and/or landing of the three traveler pawns 103 are 25, 50, and 75 respectively such that the player is obtaining the maximal game points out of all the possibilities that the player may move the three traveler pawns 103 on the game board for obtaining the plurality of game points, then the player may be assigned a total of 150 points in the corresponding turn. Further, the moving may be in a direction indicated by an arrow near a “start” label 116 on the game board 101. Further, the plurality of game pieces may move around the game board in a counter-clockwise direction. Further, in an instance, if the number indicated on the first pair of dices is seven, then the at least one travel guide pawn 102 may go back to the “start” label from any of the colored circles 107 on which the at least one traveler pawn 103 may have been placed at such instance. Further, in such a case, the at least one traveler pawn 103 may still be moved on the game board. Further, if the at least one travel guide pawn 102 is already at the “start” label 116, then the at least one travel guide pawn 102 may remain at the “start” label 116 and no game point may be assigned to the player. Further, the plurality of game points may be collected based on the positioning of the at least one traveler pawn 103 in a same column as that of the at least one travel guide pawn 102. Further, in some embodiments, the each player may buy at least one traveler pawn 103 from the corresponding set of traveler pawns 103 using corresponding plurality of game points assigned to the player. Further, the bought at least one traveler pawn 103 may be placed at any space on the game board based on a choice of the player. Further, the buying, in an instance, may be based on a strategy of the player such that the player may obtain the maximal game points. Further, the gameplay may end subsequent to the player having obtained a required plurality of game points to be adjudged as a winner of the gameplay that may have been decided at the start of the gameplay. Further, in some embodiments, if there occurs a tie between at least two players of the one or more players, then an additional rolling of the at least four dices 104 may be performed. Further, the moving of the at least one traveler pawn 103 associated with the at least two players subsequent to the additional rolling may be assigned one or more game points. Further, a first player of the at least two players achieving game points greater than a second player of the at least two players may be adjudged as the winner of the new board game.


Further, in some embodiments, the plurality of game objects may include one or more passport folders 109, one or more destination game pieces 110, and one or more destination strategy cards 112 in addition to the plurality of game objects mentioned herein. Further, the plurality of game objects mentioned thereof may facilitate the second exemplary gameplay associated with the new board game. Further, in some embodiments, a number of destination game pieces 110 of the one or more destination game pieces 110 may be placed on a number of colored circles 107 of the plurality of colored circles 107. Further, in some embodiments, the placing may be such that the colored circles labeled “SC” 115 may be avoided. Further, in an instance, if the at least one travel guide pawn 102 lands on a colored circle 107 with a destination game piece 110, then the player involved in the gameplay may collect a corresponding destination game piece 110 from the one or more destination game pieces 110. Further, a passport folder 109 of the one or more passport folders 109 may be assigned to the player. Further, the player may choose to align the passport folder 109 with a block of the at least two blocks proximal to the player. Further, the collected destination 120 may be placed on at least one of the eight spaces provided on the passport folder 109 by the player in order to keep a track of the collected destination game pieces 110. Further, the one or more destination strategy cards 112 may be combined and shuffled with the number of strategy cards prior to starting the gameplay. Further, in some embodiments, the combined and shuffled strategy cards 112 may be divided into the number of decks based on the one or more players such that each of the number of decks may be placed on each of the at least three designated spots 114. Further, at the instance of the moving, if the at least one travel guide pawn lands 102 on the colored circle labeled “SC” 115, a strategy card 112 may be collected from the combined and shuffled strategy cards 112.


Further, the second exemplary gameplay may include earning of a plurality of game points and a number of destinations 120 by the each player. Further, the earning of the plurality of game points, in an instance, may be based on positioning of the at least one traveler pawn 103 with the at least one travel guide pawn based on the moving subsequent to rolling of the at least four dices 104. Further, the second exemplary gameplay may be similar to the first exemplary game except for a fact that the player may be collecting destinations 120 along with the plurality of game points. Further, the player of the one or more players achieving the required game points and destinations 120 based on a corresponding passport folder 109 first may be adjudged as a winner of the new board game. Further, the player that starts the game may place a number of destination game pieces 110 of the one or more destination game pieces 110 on the game board 101 at spaces corresponding to the colored circles 107. Further, the number of destination game pieces of the one or more destination game pieces 110 may be placed based on a choice of the player that starts the game such that each destination game piece 110 may be placed at least one space apart on the colored circles 107. Further, the collecting of the destinations 120 may be based on landing of the at least one travel guide pawn on a destination game piece, wherein the collecting may be subsequent to the at least one traveler pawn 103 being in the same column as that of the at least one travel guide pawn 102 based on the moving. Further, the player may place collected destination game pieces 110 by the player during the gameplay on a corresponding passport folder 109 associated with the player. Further, in some embodiments, the corresponding passport folder 109 may include a color similar to the at least one traveler pawn associated with the player. Further, in some embodiments, the each player may buy at least one destination 120 using the plurality of game points similar to the buying of the at least one traveler pawn 103.


Further, in some embodiments, each of the plurality of game pieces may include wireless transponder devices such as, but not limited to, near field communication (NFC) chip, radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, etc. Further, the wireless transponder devices, in an instance, may facilitate using devices that may facilitate receiving and/or transmitting of a plurality of signals from and/or to the plurality of game pieces such as, a smartphone, a wearable computer such as a smartwatch, a laptop, a PC, etc. in a gameplay associated with the new board game. Further, the plurality of signals, in an instance, may include data corresponding to one or more moves played by the one or more players in the gameplay. Further, in some embodiments, a device may be associated with each of the one or more players. Further, in some embodiments, the devices may display an animation and/or a virtual image of the game board at an instance of the gameplay in real-time based on the receiving and/or the transmitting of the plurality of signals. Further, the animation and/or the virtual image may include, but not limited to, hints associated with the gameplay, score of a corresponding player, real-time changes in positions of game pieces by the one or more player subsequent to the rolling, and so on.



FIG. 2 is an illustration of game pieces associated with the new board game, in accordance with some embodiments. Further, a plurality of game objects may include a plurality of game pieces. Further, the game pieces may include a traveler pawn 103, a travel guide pawn 102, and a dice 104. Further, in some embodiments, the plurality of game pieces may include a plurality of traveler pawns 103, at least one travel guide pawn 102, and at least four dices 104 that may facilitate a gameplay associated with the new board game. Further, in some embodiments, the game pieces may include one or more strategy cards 112 (explained further in conjunction with FIG. 1, FIG. 6, FIG. 7, FIG. 8, and FIG. 9).



FIG. 3 is an illustration of a score sheet associated with the new game board, in accordance with some embodiments. Further, in some embodiments, a plurality of game objects may include a booklet that may include a plurality of score sheets 111. Further, the score sheet 111 may be used to note down a plurality of game points collected by one or more players involved in a gameplay associated with the new board game (explained further in conjunction with FIG. 1).

FIG. 11 is an illustration of an online platform 1000 consistent with various embodiments of the present disclosure. By way of non-limiting example, the online platform 1000 to facilitate provisioning of a new board game may be hosted on a centralized server 1002, such as, for example, a cloud computing service. The centralized server 1002 may communicate with other network entities, such as, for example, a mobile device 1006 (such as a smartphone, a laptop, a tablet computer, etc.), other electronic devices 1010 (such as desktop computers, server computers, etc.), databases 1014, and sensors 1016 over a communication network 1004, such as, but not limited to, the Internet. Further, users of the online platform 1000 may include relevant parties such as, but not limited to, end-users, administrators, service providers, service consumers, and so on. Accordingly, in some instances, electronic devices operated by the one or more relevant parties may be in communication with the online platform 1000.


Further, in some embodiments, the new board game may include a plurality of game objects. Further, the plurality of game objects, in an instance, may include a game board and a plurality of game pieces. Further, in some embodiments, each of the plurality of game pieces may include wireless transponder devices such as, but not limited to, near field communication (NFC) chip, radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, etc. Further, the wireless transponder devices, in an instance, may facilitate using devices that may facilitate receiving and/or transmitting of a plurality of signals from and/or to the plurality of game pieces such as, a smartphone, a wearable computer such as a smartwatch, a laptop, a PC, etc. in a gameplay associated with the new board game. Further, the plurality of signals, in an instance, may include data corresponding to one or more moves played by the one or more players in the gameplay. Further, in some embodiments, a device may be associated with each of the one or more players. Further, in some embodiments, the devices may display an animation and/or a virtual image of the game board at an instance of the gameplay in real-time based on the receiving and/or the transmitting of the plurality of signals. Further, the animation and/or the virtual image may include, but not limited to, hints associated with the gameplay, score of a corresponding player, real-time changes in positions of game pieces by the one or more player subsequent to the rolling, and so on.


A user 1012, such as the one or more relevant parties, may access the online platform 1000 through a web-based software application or browser. The web-based software application may be embodied as, for example, but not be limited to, a website, a web application, a desktop application, and a mobile application compatible with a computing device 1100.


With reference to FIG. 12, a system consistent with an embodiment of the disclosure may include a computing device or cloud service, such as computing device 1100. In a basic configuration, computing device 1100 may include at least one processing unit 1102 and a system memory 1104. Depending on the configuration and type of computing device, system memory 1104 may comprise, but is not limited to, volatile (e.g. random-access memory (RAM)), non-volatile (e.g., read-only memory (ROM)), flash memory, or any combination. System memory 1104 may include operating system 1105, one or more programming modules 1106, and may include a program data 1107. Operating system 1105, for example, may be suitable for controlling computing device 1100's operation. In one embodiment, programming modules 1106 may include image-processing module, machine learning module and/or image classifying module. Furthermore, embodiments of the disclosure may be practiced in conjunction with a graphics library, other operating systems, or any other application program and is not limited to any particular application or system. This basic configuration is illustrated in FIG. 11 by those components within a dashed line 1108.


Computing device 1100 may have additional features or functionality. For example, computing device 1100 may also include additional data storage devices (removable and/or non-removable) such as, for example, magnetic disks, optical disks, or tape. Such additional storage is illustrated in FIG. 11 by a removable storage 1109 and a non-removable storage 1110. Computer storage media may include volatile and nonvolatile, removable and non-removable media implemented in any method or technology for storage of information, such as computer-readable instructions, data structures, program modules, or other data. System memory 1104, removable storage 1109, and non-removable storage 1110 are all computer storage media examples (i.e., memory storage.) Computer storage media may include, but is not limited to, RAM, ROM, electrically erasable read-only memory (EEPROM), flash memory or other memory technology, CD-ROM, digital versatile disks (DVD) or other optical storage, magnetic cassettes, magnetic tape, magnetic disk storage or other magnetic storage devices, or any other medium which can be used to store information and which can be accessed by computing device 1100. Any such computer storage media may be part of device 1100. Computing device 1100 may also have input device(s) 1112 such as a keyboard, a mouse, a pen, a sound input device, a touch input device, a location sensor, a camera, a biometric sensor, etc. Output device(s) 1114 such as a display, speakers, a printer, etc. may also be included. The aforementioned devices are examples and others may be used.


Computing device 1100 may also contain a communication connection 1116 that may allow device 1100 to communicate with other computing devices 1118, such as over a network in a distributed computing environment, for example, an intranet or the Internet. Communication connection 1116 is one example of communication media. Communication media may typically be embodied by computer-readable instructions, data structures, program modules, or other data in a modulated data signal, such as a carrier wave or other transport mechanism, and includes any information delivery media. The term “modulated data signal” may describe a signal that has one or more characteristics set or changed in such a manner as to encode information in the signal. By way of example, and not limitation, communication media may include wired media such as a wired network or direct-wired connection, and wireless media such as acoustic, radio frequency (RF), infrared, and other wireless media. The term computer-readable media as used herein may include both storage media and communication media.


As stated above, a number of program modules and data files may be stored in system memory 1104, including operating system 1105. While executing on processing unit 1102, programming modules 1106 (e.g., application 1120 such as a media player) may perform processes including, for example, one or more stages of methods, algorithms, systems, applications, servers, databases as described above. The aforementioned process is an example, and processing unit 1102 may perform other processes. Other programming modules that may be used in accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure may include sound encoding/decoding applications, machine learning application, acoustic classifiers, etc.


Generally, consistent with embodiments of the disclosure, program modules may include routines, programs, components, data structures, and other types of structures that may perform particular tasks or that may implement particular abstract data types. Moreover, embodiments of the disclosure may be practiced with other computer system configurations, including hand-held devices, general-purpose graphics processor-based systems, multiprocessor systems, microprocessor-based or programmable consumer electronics, application-specific integrated circuit-based electronics, minicomputers, mainframe computers, and the like. Embodiments of the disclosure may also be practiced in distributed computing environments where tasks are performed by remote processing devices that are linked through a communications network. In a distributed computing environment, program modules may be located in both local and remote memory storage devices.


Furthermore, embodiments of the disclosure may be practiced in an electrical circuit comprising discrete electronic elements, packaged or integrated electronic chips containing logic gates, a circuit utilizing a microprocessor, or on a single chip containing electronic elements or microprocessors. Embodiments of the disclosure may also be practiced using other technologies capable of performing logical operations such as, for example, AND, OR, and NOT, including but not limited to mechanical, optical, fluidic, and quantum technologies. In addition, embodiments of the disclosure may be practiced within a general-purpose computer or in any other circuits or systems.


Embodiments of the disclosure, for example, may be implemented as a computer process (method), a computing system, or as an article of manufacture, such as a computer program product or computer-readable media. The computer program product may be a computer storage media readable by a computer system and encoding a computer program of instructions for executing a computer process. The computer-usable or computer-readable medium may be, for example but not limited to, an electronic, magnetic, optical, electromagnetic, infrared, or semiconductor system, apparatus, device, or propagation medium. More specific computer-readable medium examples (a non-exhaustive list), the computer-readable medium may include the following: an electrical connection having one or more wires, a portable computer diskette, a random-access memory (RAM), a read-only memory (ROM), an erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM or Flash memory), an optical fiber, and a portable compact disc read-only memory (CD-ROM). While certain embodiments of the disclosure have been described, other embodiments may exist. Furthermore, although embodiments of the present disclosure have been described as being associated with data stored in memory and other storage mediums, data can also be stored on or read from other types of computer-readable media, such as secondary storage devices, like hard disks, solid-state storage (e.g., USB drive), or a CD-ROM, a carrier wave from the Internet, or other forms of RAM or ROM. Further, the disclosed methods' stages may be modified in any manner, including by reordering stages and/or inserting or deleting stages, without departing from the disclosure.


Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims
  • 1. A method of playing a game, comprising the steps of: providing a game board having a start label, a travel guide path and a plurality of traveler paths, said travel guide path and plurality of traveler paths each having the same moving direction, said travel guide path being made up of a plurality of colored spaces, said plurality of traveler paths each being made up of a plurality of numbered spaces, each of the plurality of numbered spaces having a number value associated with it, the travel guide path and plurality of traveler paths arranged in rows and columns so that each of the plurality of colored spaces is associated with one of the plurality of numbered spaces from each of the plurality of traveler paths;providing a travel guide pawn and a plurality of sets of traveler pawns, each of the sets of traveler pawns comprising a plurality of traveler pawns;placing a predetermined number of the plurality of traveler pawns from each of the plurality of sets of traveler pawns on the numbered spaces;providing a first set of dice and a second set of dice;determining which of the plurality of sets of traveler pawns is set to be moved and indicating that set of traveler pawns as the current set of traveler pawns;rolling the first set of dice to determine the number of colored spaces moved by the travel guide pawn along the travel guide path;rolling the second set of dice to determine the number of numbered spaces moved by the current set of traveler pawns along the plurality of traveler paths;attributing points after movement of the travel guide pawn and the traveler pawns according to the number values associated with the numbered spaces associated with the colored space on which the travel guide pawn sits; andwinning said game by accumulating a predetermined number of points.
  • 2. The method of playing a game of claim 1, further comprising: the plurality of traveler paths each having a first section, a second section, a third section, and a fourth section, the fourth section being further along said paths than the third section, the third section being further along said paths than the second section, and the second section being further along said paths than the first section.
  • 3. The method of playing a game of claim 2, further comprising: the number values associated with the numbered spaces in the first section being higher on average than the number values associated with the numbered spaces in the second section, the number values associated with the numbered spaces in the third section being higher on average than the number values associated with the numbered spaces in the first section, and the number values associated with the numbered spaces in the fourth section being higher on average than the number values associated with the number spaces in the third section.
  • 4. The method of playing a game of claim 1, further comprising: for each colored space, the number values of the numbered spaces associated with said colored space being highest in the numbered space closest to the colored space and lowest in the numbered space furthest from the colored space.
  • 5. The method of playing a game of claim 1, further comprising: the travel guide path having a plurality of sections, each section being associated with a number; andattributing points to the current set of traveler pawns if the value of the first set of dice or the value of the second set of dice is equivalent to the number associated with the section of the travel guide path in which the travel guide piece sits.
  • 6. The method of playing a game of claim 1, further comprising: adding a traveler pawn to any of the plurality of numbered spaces and subtracting a predetermined number of points from the associated set of traveler pieces.
  • 7. The method of playing a game of claim 6, further comprising: providing a travel score sheet booklet, having a score associated with each set of traveler pawns;adding points to the score associated with a set of traveler pawns when points are attributed to that set of traveler pawns;subtracting points from the score associated with a set of traveler pawns when points are deducted from that set of traveler pawns.
  • 8. The method of playing a game of claim 1, further comprising: the number values associated with the numbered spaces ranging from 5 to 70.

The method of playing a game of claim 1, further comprising: moving any number of the current set of traveler pawns along the plurality of traveler paths in the moving direction, so that the total number of numbered spaces covered by the current set of traveler pawns is equivalent to the value resulting from rolling the second set of dice.
  • 10. The method of playing a game of claim 1, further comprising: the game board being substantially square in shape, the travel guide path and plurality of traveler paths each having a first space and a last space, the first space of each path being adjacent to a first side of the start label, and the last space of each path being adjacent to a second side of the start label.
  • 11. The method of playing a game of claim 10, further comprising: moving the travel guide pawn to the first space of the travel guide path when the travel guide pawn sits on the last space of the travel guide path and the travel guide pawn is to be moved based on the rolling of the first set of dice; andmoving a traveler pawn to the first space of one of the plurality of travel guide paths when the traveler pawn sits on the last space of one of the plurality of traveler paths and the traveler pawn is to be moved based on the rolling of the second set of dice.
  • 12. The method of playing a game of claim 1, further comprising: moving the travel guide pawn back to the start label when rolling the first set of dice results in a predetermined dice value.
  • 13. The method of playing a game of claim 12, further comprising: the predetermined dice value being equal to 7.
  • 14. The method of playing a game of claim 1, further comprising: a predetermined number of the plurality of colored spaces being indicated as strategy card spaces;providing strategy cards, each strategy card having a strategy that can be activated; anddistributing a strategy card when the travel guide pawn lands on a strategy card space.
  • 15. The method of playing a game of claim 14, further comprising: activating a strategy card immediately after the strategy card is distributed if the strategy indicates immediate activation.
  • 16. The method of playing a game of claim 14, further comprising: activating a strategy card at any point prior to the completion of the game if the strategy does not indicate immediate activation.
  • 17. The method of playing a game of claim 1, further comprising: providing a plurality of destination game pieces;providing a plurality of destinations;placing each of the plurality of destination game pieces on a different colored space or numbered space;distributing a destination when the travel guide pawn or a traveler pawn lands on a space with a destination game piece; andthe step of winning said game further comprising accumulating a predetermined number of destinations.
  • 18. The method of playing a game of claim 17, further comprising: distributing a destination when a strategy card is activated.
  • 19. The method of playing a game of claim 18, further comprising: distributing a destination and subtracting a predetermined number of points from the associated set of traveler pawns.
  • 20. The method of playing a game of claim 19, further comprising: providing a plurality of passport folders;each of the plurality of passport folders being associated with one of the plurality of sets of traveler pawns;distributing a destination by placing the destination in one of the plurality of passport folders.
