Claims
- 1. A fracturing fluid comprising:
water; and a salt inhibitor selected from the group consisting of nitrilotriacetamide and a nitrilotriacetamide salt.
- 2. The fracturing fluid of claim 1, wherein the nitrilotriacetamide salt is a hydrochloric acid salt or a sulfuric acid salt.
- 3. The fracturing fluid of claim 1, further comprising a foaming agent.
- 4. The fracturing fluid of claim 3, wherein the foaming agent is nonyl phenol ethoxylates, sulfamic acid derivatives of ethoxylated alcohols, ammonium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, or potassium dodecylbenzenesulfonate.
- 5. The fracturing fluid of claim 1, wherein the concentration of the inhibitor is about 40 ppm to about 400 ppm.
- 6. The fracturing fluid of claim 1, further comprising a surfactant or a proppant.
- 7. A method of fracturing an oil and/or gas well, the method comprising:
selecting an oil and/or gas well drilled into a formation; providing a fluid comprising water and a salt inhibitor selected from the group consisting of nitrilotriacetamide and a nitrilotriacetamide salt; and pumping the fluid into a wellbore at a sufficient pressure to fracture the formation.
- 8. The method of claim 7, wherein the nitrilotriacetamide salt is a hydrochloric acid salt or a sulfuric acid salt.
- 9. The method of claim 7, wherein the concentration of the inhibitor is about 40 ppm to about 400 ppm.
- 10. The method of claim 7, wherein the fluid further comprises a surfactant or a proppant.
- 11. The method of claim 7, wherein the fluid further comprises a foaming agent.
- 12. The method of claim 11, wherein the foaming agent is nonyl phenol ethoxylates, sulfamic acid derivatives of ethoxylated alcohols, ammonium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, or potassium dodecylbenzenesulfonate.
- 13. The method of claim 7, wherein the fluid is a gelled fluid.
- 14. The method of claim 7, wherein the pumping step comprises continuous addition of fluid into the wellbore.
- 15. The method of claim 7, wherein the pumping step comprises continuous addition of fluid into the wellbore with a production slipstream.
- 16. The method of claim 7, wherein the pumping step comprises continuous addition of fluid into the wellbore with a capillary treating string.
- 17. A method of reducing the amount of crystallized salt in an oil and/or gas well, the method comprising:
selecting an oil and/or gas well containing crystallized salt; providing a fluid comprising water and a salt inhibitor selected from the group consisting of nitrilotriacetamide and a nitrilotriacetamide salt; and pumping the fluid into the well.
- 18. The method of claim 17, wherein the nitrilotriacetamide salt is a hydrochloric acid salt or a sulfuric acid salt.
- 19. The method of claim 17, wherein the concentration of the inhibitor is about 40 ppm to about 400 ppm.
- 20. The method of claim 17, wherein the fluid further comprises a surfactant or a proppant.
- 21. The method of claim 17, wherein the fluid further comprises a foaming age nt.
- 22. The method of claim 21, wherein the foaming agent is nonyl phenol ethoxylates, sulfamic acid derivatives of ethoxylated alcohols, ammonium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, or potassium dodecylbenzenesulfonate.
- 23. The method of claim 17, wherein the pumping step comprises continuous addition of fluid into the wellbore.
- 24. The method of claim 17, further comprising a step of pumping water into the well prior to pumping the fluid into the well.
