Claims
- 1. A method of treatment or prophylaxis of a patient suffering from the functional symptoms of Parkinson's disease, comprising increasing the effective amount of GPE or an analog or mimetic thereof within the CNS of said patient.
- 2. The method of claim 1 where the patient is suffering from the functional symptoms of Parkinson's disease involving dopaminergic neurons.
- 3. The method of claim 1 where the concentration of GPE is increased by administering to said patient an effective amount of GPE or an analog of or mimetic of GPE or a pro-drug thereof.
- 4. The method of claim 1 where the concentration of GPE is increased in the CNS by direct administration of GPE.
- 5. The method of claim 1 which is prophylactic.
- 6. The method of claim 1 which is therapeutic.
- 7. The method of claim 1 where the patient is suffering from Parkinson's disease functional symptoms involving dopaminergic neurons within the substantia nigra of the CNS.
